Hi would anyone recommend a particular DVD to excercise with? Every celeb under the sun seems to have one out at the mo!
Want to be able to excercise in my own home, primary goal to lose weight...

Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of these DVDs, but if you can commit to actually doing the workouts that's on them they're a fairly decent way to help you get some exercise in, particulalry if you aren't comfortable going to a gym.

First off though, even with the best DVD/ workout plan diet is your no. 1 tool for weight loss, so if you don't have that under control you won't get the results you want. Oh, and ignore all those celebs that say they can eat whatever they want because they do three half hour exercise sessions a week - a pack of lies I tells ya!!

I haven't used it myself, but a girlfriend of mine says great things about the Davina McCall DVDs. Not sure I could listen to her for very long :o but I did take a look at the DVD and it seems to be solid enough. She does a lot of bodyweight strength exercises, and incorporates her own version of HIIT by putting 1 min bursts of aerobic activity throughout the workouts.

A lot of the other DVDs seem to be a bit fluffy with very little substance, but I'd imagine if you're just getting started with exercise the Davina McCall ones would be a nice challenge. Just remember though, you need to put the effort in to get the results from any exercise plan. Once or twice a week just won't cut it. Good luck!
