Hi there everyone, some friends of mine who have never played paintball before have recently asked me to plan something fun, and I figure paintball sounds like a great idea, I am from the usa and played paintball there when I had time after working hours so I am not too familiar with the rules and regulations not to mention the locations beyond what I have read on this site. My friends have never played paintball before so I am looking for something that is pretty laidback and does not have a player minimum of 20 people. Where I am from in MA(Massachusetts) we had ranges where you could just pitch up with a few people and join an overall game with people you barely knew(somtimes bad, sometimes good), I looked at that HRTA site, that looks a bit too serious for what I am thinking of organizing, any other places to play paintball around the dublin area? since none of us drive....

Well HRTA is airsoft, not paintball, different sport, similar ideas though

if you check out paintballer.ie there's a fair bit of information on there about various sites and stuff, have only ever played paintball at skirmish myself

There's crossfire which isn't too far outside Dublin (and from the paintball sites I've played at, personally my favourite for a variety of reasons).

There's skirmish which is further out of Dublin again, into the depths of Co.Wicklow. On the other side of Dublin there's Barrage paintball, based out at the puddinghill activity centre in Co.Meath (can't find a link just now)

Yes folks ... an airsofter who has (and liked) playing paintball :p

without turning this into an airsoft vs paintball thread, i've also played, and liked paintball, but paintball was always more of a work day out/stag trip activity for me that i might do once a year, whereas airsoft is more of a hobby and i collect the guns and play on a weekly basis

Hi there everyone, I am back for a little bit more advice. So I did have a look at the crossfire website and spoke to one of the ladies on the phone. Everything looks good and it is pretty close to the city centre so it is very conveniant however I do have a personell issue. Crossfire needs a minimum of 20 people for a group session otherwise they team you up with whomever is there on the day. I don't have a particular problem with that however since I cannot muster 20 people, the 10 or so that I expect to come are first time paintball players with an even mix of 5 guys/ 5 girls. There could be more than 10 but definently not 20 so I don't want these first time players to be too scarred from the experience, another factor is that there will be only two people there that speak english while the rest speak chinese so mixed teams might be an issue. I guess what I am asking is do any of you know of anyone who is going to be playing at crossfire in the next two weeks that might be interested in combining teams?

Does it have to be at crossfire? If you wait a while, go on a paintballer.ie trip to Barrage and get it cheaper?
