Pee on it. The ammonia will separate the oil molecules and blah blah blah.

Not throwing an 1800E laptop in washing machine :D

    Tried Kitchen cloth <no joy>
Tried Cif <it made it feckin worse>
Tried dettol <it didnt worked either>
washed my own fingers with all kinds of soaps and shampows in home <didnt worked >

the pad looks very clean but the friction is too much fingers dont slide on it :D

I was going to say just get another one...

i dont know why but there is more friction and its very hard to navigate with touchpad. i think its oily but i have cleaned it with everything i can think of and its not normal as it used to be.

i know its not broken as if i put tissue around my finger and then navigate it works fine !:D

    I know this one!!

OK, it's methylated spirit. Sometimes the natural oils or your fingertips builds up on the touch pad - or you've been eating KFC whilst browsing! :D

Anyhow, try a bit of meths on a wad of cotton wool - white vinegar works well too - WHITE vinegar, NOT Malt vinegar!

Liberally sprinkle some talcum powder on it, it's great for absorbing oily stuff.

Then just smear some toothpaste on, to stick to and soak up the talcum powder, and wipe away with some kitchen roll.

Just move the pointer with your mind.

did you think maybe its your finger thats dirty and not the track pad??

you said yourself when you put a tissue on your finger it works fine....

Maybe you have a good reason not to, but what about buying an optical mouse? I find it a hell of a lot easier to navigate with the mouse, tbh.

do you mean the lack of friction? or do you mean you can't slide your fringer across the pad

I meant i cant slide my fingers across the pad.

I cleaned with almost all the suggestions. It has made some difference bit its still not back to normal

Will try when i get home

I havent tried that methylated spirit or isopropyl alcohol as i think i will have to buy these in pharmacy.

Will let you know in evening if its any better after all the "cleaning attacked" i mounted on it

Learn to differentiate between an exclamation mark (!) and a question mark (?)

As to your problem, methylated spirits
