seeking advice on new build (watercooling, ddr3)

Due to hdd failure (after 2 years running at 54C they finally gave up) I now have to get new workstation:

Need a couple of advices:
1. Should I get 4 gigs of cheaper DDR2 and a cheaper motherboard

Or go for the DDR3 motherboard? Memory is a bitch though E475 for 2 gigs... Memory is important however (virtual machines, .net 3, and sql server/oracle development @home)

2. as I'm tired of buying new case every time I'm upgrading may be it's better to buy one of the expensive watercooling cases and forget about new case at least for 2 upgrades (4 years)? Which watercooling case would be the best solution then?

Don't waste time with DDR3 little benefit to it and too expensive.

Go with 4GB of DDR-2 from Crucial

Also unless there is something specific on the PK5-E you don't need the bells and whistles it adds the PK5 will work just fine as a motherboard.

As for a case with water cooling can't really help you there, this is what I use and it's quite big (server case) with lots of room inside the case.

I'd switch the E6850 for a Q6600 and the cpu cooler for a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme. I wouldn't go water unless your willing to spend a good bit of time and money on it. Stick with DDR2 for ram too, no need for DDR3 at the moment.
