Any other waterfordians on the board? It might be worth staging an invasion of Dublin at some point, or Cork when that place opens.

Well to my astonishment, there are a lot of people in Waterford...49,240 according to wikipedia! Up until now, I didn't think the county was populated. Wikipedia has been known to be wrong though.

Being that it's part of the wilderness, these waterfordians may have limited internet though, since you're the first I've seen here on the forum.

So if the number of 49,240 is accurate, then based on the ratio of airsofters/non-airsofters in Dublin, I'd say there is a good chance that at least one other person in Waterford plays airsoft.

There are a few in this 'Cork' place that I keep hearing about. Not sure if it really exists though. Oh, and we have some guy out in the Galway wilderness called S.C.O.P.E. We thought the wild animals had killed him, but he posted today so he must be ok.

So grab a horse and come on up to Dublin for a game sometime.
    And welcome to the forums!

    P.S. Yeah, I'm a cheeky git :p

Thanks for the welcome :p It might be a while before I'm able to get up to HRTA so I may just have to go skirmishing by myself in my garage. Not too sure how ambushes will work though

I'm trying to convince a few friends to get into airsoft at the moment. You wouldn't happen to own any large piece of land by any chance?

I have a noose you can borrow. 'They' are gonna tear your head off for that comment.

Skirmishing on public land is a big no no. The potential for injury to members of the public is greater than 0% so therefore unacceptable. And should a member of the public report 'guys with guns running around in the woods' to the Gardai, there is the possibility of the ERU turning up and shooting you,

Um that's kind of dodgy, especially with the RDF running around on exercises in some of the woods. They have security who carry real guns with real bullets and remember real bullets hurt. Best keep it to HRTA so (If I ever get time to go up)

Apologies only read the charter today and saw the bit that said

*There will be no discussion of skirmishing on land other than approved airsoft/paintball sites. It is extremely stupid and dangerous. People who do this put our whole sport at risk.

as has been pointed out, this is both against the charter of this forum, and more importantly, against the law.

mention it again and you will be banned

Hey just to clear up the matter, I was talking to my friend today about us skirmishing in he woods near his house, and he reminded me that he owns the section of the woods we play in. So just geting that out there to clear my name of illegal activity:)

even still, if your in view of the public, it's dangerous, if someone was walking through the woods and stumbled across you with an aeg and rang the gardai, you could land yourself in a world of trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 364 ✭✭xFROSTY Gx

Ah well that sucks. Just gota stay at the top end of his woods were we cant be seen.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 896 Mod ✭✭✭✭Fuzzytrooper

Still, those kiddies tend to wander off on adventures in woods so it could still might not be the best idea. Here's a solution if your friend has the land, why not set up something legitimate with insurance etc, I know I'd pay. We could even call it Hit and Run Tactical Battle or HRTB...
