Slow Syncing iTunes to Apple TV

I am trying to sync iTunes from a new 2.8 iMac to a new Apple TV wirelessly through an Extreme network. It is very slow running at between 10 and 50 songs per hour. Checked the send rate from the Mac and it was varying between 200 and 450 KB/sec earlier when I had the network to myself and is now at between 30 and 180 KB/sec with my son downloading something overnight so I don't think this is the problem. There is a mention of this issue on the "official" Apple Tv forum pages but no real solution other than to try vturning everything off and on. To be honest I haven't tried this yet - too busy setting up an Iomega external drive with some very user friendly!!! EMC software. Turning off and on hasn't worked for anyone on the forum thread anyway.

    Any ideas anyone??

Got it to work in the end. Basically in order to achieve a reasonable speed I had to ensure that it was the only activity happening over the wireless network. This meant that it was operating in 'n' mode and that the maximum capacity was available for syncing.
