When should I expect DX10.1 compliant graphics cards to be available? I'm considering upgrading my graphics card (Fortress Forever in 1680x1050 is raping it!) but I will hold off until the dx10.1 parts are available.

    Thanks :)

    From another website:
DigiTimes is reporting that NVIDIA's upcoming G92 GPU will launch on November 12th. If you recall, G92 is expected to be built on TSMC's 65-nm process with features such as support for PCIe 2.0 and DirectX 10.1. The article also states that the timeline for NVIDIA's midrange G98 part is still unknown.

Nice. Although when that happens i may well be persuaded by an 8800gtx price drop! DX10.1 isn't THAT big a deal.

By the time you start seeing dx10.1 games coming into the mainstream odds are you are going to be considering upgrading it. So don't hold your breath.

The same thing happening with dx10, dx9 and Shader Model 3.0 etc. Cards with new tech are released, then games come out 1-2 years later. I mean come on, dx10 cards were out this time last year and we are only starting to see dx10 games come out. And I can list them on 2 hands.

Yeah, the aim of my upgrade isn't just to have dx10.1, its to improve performance. The rest is just a bonus!

Current card is a 7800gtx with 256mb but I think the 256mb is crippling it when running games at 1680x1050. Vista isn't helping it either ;)

Actually, anyone know if stuff like this can be had at bargain prices in China? I'm going to Shanghai for work next month...
