Who exactly is this Irish family who feature on the front page of this Saturday's Irish Times ( a couple and two kids who are running a vinyard in the Dordogne area of France.) They have been "featured" at least twice already and the articles are all fairly similar and nondescript. Can we assume this is free advertising and that they must know the editor?

I don't read the times but if I was to hazard a guess I'd say you're right. They've probably sold up everything at home and are struggling with their foreign adventure. It's the Irish way of doing business. "I don't have an original product but I am a friend of a friend of a friend who edits the Irish Times magazine so we'll get loads of publicity..."

Caroline Feely and her family left Ireland to follow their dream of making fine wine in France. Here she chronicles the work they do in their organic vineyard, near Bergerac, throughout the year, and Joe Breen tastes their Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc

    That's who they are.

I find these articles so boring. Those annoying programmes on RTE about people buying properties in the sun too. Is this really the middle-class dream? How annoying!
