    hi all,

long time lurker first time poster;)

with a new laptop i got a HP express card DVB-T TV tuner.

everything seems to be working fine however when i scan both in windows media centre and HP's own quickplay software for TV it finds nothing.

should there be signal that can be picked up by this card and its aerial and if so what can i do to encourage them to find it?

i know this is pretty basic stuff but i did search around and i couldnt seem to find any answers so any assistance would be much appreciated.

i'm in dublin if that has any impact by the way

    thanks again

Yip, if you're in Dublin you should be able to pick up the DTT Trials. The main problem is it can be tricky to get the signal locked and this would be down to the direction you are facing the aerial, the position it is in the house etc. I found it to be very unreliable until I put a good aerial into my loft, and then spent time with some very low level utilities on Linux to get the aerial pointed correctly. It was very frustrating that a simple set of bunny ears would pick up the signal downstairs, but when I moved it upstairs (same location in the house) it wouldn't work.

    A.
