    Hi,

My question is for people who have worked in the business of catering vans at venues such as concerts and race meetings

Mods, i know this should be more suited to the business sector or somewhere else but if you could leave it here for a couple of hours first that would be great because there is lots of people here that wouldnt post or read the business section that might for example have worked on one of these catering vans or know somebody etc

Im wondering about Catering Vans that you see at the races, concerts around the country. Any ideas if there is a waiting list for catering vans getting access to these events and is it hard to get in. Also an idea of prices would be good but i understand it can vary.

Im in a family business that runs a cafe come take-away at night and theres great profit from the night club crowd if your situated close to them so it got me thinking about getting a catering van and giving it a try. I wouldnt mind paying what i expect will be excessive renting charges if i was getting access to the right concerts/race meeting but i dont want to buy a catering van and find im not getting enough access to the right areas and stuck with a van sitting in the driveway.

A half decent second hand trailer looks to be in the €10,000-€15,000 so although im happy to take the risk because i know if i can get access to 3-4 half decent venues a week id be making a decent profit and make it back in time, they also seem to hold their value well which is good.

I also presume you just cant pull up on the roadside outside a race meeting or concert that you have to get permission from whoever and pay some sort of rent.

So if anyone has anything that could help id be very grateful for the advice.
