I was going to be the DJ at a racecourse tomorrow night, but just got a txt saying it was cancelled due to an injunction against a large food contractor at 4.15pm can anyone tell me more? Surely this is a big blow to such a big company?

    Thanks

An injunction is an equitable relief (a legal relief allowed under the common law that is) afforded to a plaintiff in an action or concern that is due before the courts. There are 6 types of injunction possible all of which are based on the unique circumstances of a given case. The above does not (nor should it) give details.

Injunctions are not necessarily a bad thing for both parties in an action, but a defendant i.e., the person against whom an injunction is granted can feel a little sore in the short term if the matter that is being claimed against them is vexatious or not properly grounded. The judiciary are slow to grant injunctions unless a valid matter is placed before them. The reference case on this in Ireland is Campus Oil v. Minister for Industry and Energy stemming from Amercian Cynamid v. Ethicon.

    All totally circumstance dependant.
