TV3 Sports Coverage

Have to say that TV3 have suprised me with how good the sports programmes have been recently. They made a complete mess of their champions league coverage, but they have made a real effort with the RWC and their GAA grassroots programme last night wasnt half bad either.

You're joking right ! The coverage of the RWC is almost non-existant except for the Irish matches !

Because they only have the rights to cover the Irish matches and I believe semi finals and final. Hardly their fault is it.

Surely they could show highlights or repeats of the matches ! I know Setanta already have the rest but I have the four channels so I am reduced to depending on them, if they were going to spend money on the games they have they could have put a bit more effort into covering at least the ones in our pool !

This has been discussed ad nauseum in another thread, but TV3 only have rights to certain games and that's that. They don't have rights to highlights/repeats of any other matches. It's the package they have and there's nothing you can do about it.

If you want to blame someone, blame the IRB

You obviously haven't watched Eircom League Weekly?

That's fcuking pointless ! It's like televising a football match but only showing one end of the pitch !

    Oh yeah forgot about that!

    Rights or not,

The post match analysis is terrible. Matt Cooper know SFA about rugby, and the others all assume the viewers are thick. After the France-Argentina game, one bright spark drew a crappy little line over the tryline and informed us that "the French need to get the ball over this line"!!!!

As much as Hook bugs me, I'd still rather listen to him.

Matt Cooper is absolutely useless as a rugby anchor.

If I dug up my deceased dog he would show more life.

How did those cretins get the coverage.

I was gonna say the opposite, I find their pre and post-match coverage quite good... Their commentary is poor though, I switch to Setanta for that...

I do miss Hook, Pope & McGurk though...

I think tv3/ setanta sports rugby coverage is very bad at least ITV sport got miles harrison/ stewart barnes from sky for this world cup

remember every rugby world cup is live fta on all the itv digital tv channels on digital satellite if you are one on the rugby fans who fell for setanta sports boast of only channel showing every game live you should always look around
like the heinken cup is live fta from french tv on euro satellite and the celtic league is live fta on bbctv wales and s4c on digital satellite

Interesting. Do you even have Setanta. I ask because you have always said how you would never subscribe to a channel for sport that is available freely elsewhere.

I have a UK Sky card and Setanta Sports sometimes comes through to get viewers a teaser to subscribe to it so that is why I have some access fta to setanta rip off sports

Ah, so you only see the freebies. Hardly qualifies you to comment on their coverage as a whole now, does it?

I have the same right as anyone why are you an NTL/setanta sports subscriber

ITV4 is showing the chelsea match to night from 6.30pm fta

Because I chose to subscribe. What difference does it make to you or this thread? Besides, not everyone subscribes for football. I am fed up of people throwing opinions about when they don't know what they are talking about (remember your comments on DTT?), and this is another of your moments.

Back on topic.... TV3s coverage of the RWC is shooooíte.y

Agreed...though the words ' 's coverage of the RWC' are not necessary.

I find Sky Sports commentary the best of everyone doing the champions league with RTE's pundits the best

Mossy how do you have access to some sky sports commentary its through my Euro satellite at 13 degrees who show the AIT channel and brought arsenal v sevilla commentary from sky of alan smith and ian darke through my euro satellite and the Irish DTT pilot project I had choices of 3 games man utd on rte2, rangers on sat1 german tv and arsenal on AIT

I will be watching ITV1 london's coverage of the france v Ireland on friday night

    Mr Monk

Are you an NTL, Setanta Subscriber and a Sky Sports Subscriber if you are just remember I get a third of what is on subscription tv for free through a variety of satellites this is speculation but this is exactly fact

TV3's sports coverage is crap the spurs game is on tv3 but its on itv4 fta on digital satellite

To be perfectly honest i do not care how much you are saving. Like I said, not everyone subscribes exclusively for football. You have been playing the same record since you joined and nobody cares.

To be honest, I think people might be getting a bit tired of your constant going on about how great your satellite is, and your ability to receive the DTT trial.

I know I am, so I again request you stop going on and Ariston about it.
