Ryanair / Spelling of names

    Hey,

I have realised that my booking for a flight tomorrow with Ryanair has a spelling mistake in my name. For example, if I was Joseph Smith on my Passport, my booking reads as Josep Smith. I've simply missed the last character of my firstname....

Will Ryanair crucify me on this or will they let it ride

I read on other threads that a 1/2 letter mistake is okay but anything after that you need to pay up and the like... but they are threads from 2005/6. What's the jib in 2007, anybody got any experience with this?

Advice would be much appreciated!! :o

    Cheers.

I heard in passing once that you're allowed 3 letters of you're name incorrect. Dont know how true this is.

But you know ryanair...anything to get an extra few euro off you.

What would you do if it was a summons ?

Is it so hard to spell _your own_ name correctly ?

Yep it's very difficult considering we're not all as perfect as you parsi... :)

Nowt to do with being perfect. ;)

Just that by the time one is old enough to buy a plane ticket I would expect that one could spell one's name. Then again when one has to detail five names without error one thinks that it shoul dbe easy for folk to supply their own name.....

    :D

A friend of mine booked a Ryanair flight for me before and spelled my (5 letter) surname wrong. (!) There was no problem at the check in desk in Dublin or London

    Been there, done that.

No problem. Don't draw attention to it, mind!

I made this mistake last January - I spelt a colleague's name the female version rather than male (lesley - leslie). I rang and they changed it and confirmed the change by e-mail - no extra fee.

I always wondered would Ryanair ever try to sting me for not putting my middle name on the plane ticket as they claim the name on your ticket should match the one on your passport.

    I hope MOL isn't reading this!!! :D

    URGENT MEMO:

ATT OF: All Ryanair check-in staff.

SUBJECT: be on the lookout for all mysterious Josep's. Envoke name penalty charge of death.

    END OF MEMO

    Saw this on the site!

Just to let you know, Ryanair didn't pass a remark at all on me being a conspicuous Josep.

    Cheers for your responses y'all.
