bit of a noob, only played a couple of hundred hands at most of omaha, so is this ok, or am i too nitty?

only been here an orbit or two, table's been really passive pf, very few pf raises.

0.25/0.50, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

    saw flop | saw showdown

    Button phantom_lord ($68.05)
    SB SB ($48.75)
    BB ($50)
    UTG ($110.42)
    UTG+1 UTG+1 ($43.75)

    Preflop: phantom_lord is on the Button with Adiamond.gif 3diamond.gif Aclub.gif 6diamond.gif
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to 1.75, phantom_lord raises to 6, SB calls 5.75, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls 4.25.

    Flop (18.50) Kdiamond.gif Jspade.gif 9diamond.gif
SB checks, UTG+1 checks, phantom_lord checks.

    Turn (18.50) Jdiamond.gif
    SB checks, UTG+1 bets 15, 2 folds

i was gonna bet the flop, but i figure i'm not ahead of much, crushed loads, and there's not much worse that can call. plus my hand is clearly aa/kk.

so i might as well exercise some pot control/draw cheap?

Did he bet pot on the turn? I don't mind your line. You have 3 diamonds in your hand which takes away 1 out and that is a flop that hits a lot of hands. Fine IMO. I might bet 11 on the flop but prob not

snapcall turn. You may have the best hand and you have outs if you're behind. flop check is ok but i would sometimes bet here.

I think we need to know how much he bet reggie. A lot can be gauged from this

he bets 15 into a pot of 18. im not so sure snapcalling in this spot is a prudent long term line to take.

    Do you expect he is

    A) betting the Q high flush?
    B) decided to bet lone trips on this turn when it also brings the flush?
    C) just betting a scare card?

also i dont think we have that many outs as you suggest.

D'oh i never saw the 15 part. I think i fold turn always now that I think about it. if it bricks the river, are u calling again reggie?

    I check flop
Turn I will call or fold depending on Villian, especially 6 handed or less. There are alot of hands that villian can bet the turn with that you beat especially on IPoker where they haven't a clue.
If you call turn and he bets strong on river you have to give it up.

No I would fold river if he bets again.

No I would fold river if he bets again.

That's what I SAID "give it up" means fold!!!

    Phantom Lord
Id probably just flat call the pf raise in this position, even with a stronger hand than you have here. Firstly and most importantly you are practically giving away your hand here so the chances of getting your money in set over set on the flop are very small. Secondly the only hand that is going to reraise you is the other aces with a stronger back hand like aces double suited or AAJ10 etc. Also despite the fact that the initial raiser is in front of you there are still players with position on you hence you are comitting yourself to betting a wide range of flops where the probability of you being behind are quite high. The way you have played this hand pre flop means that most times you will either win a small pot or lose a big one, as the cliche goes. As important as position is in texas, it is a much more salient matter in the four card variation. As played youre in a tough spot, there are many hands you can beat here but also some you are behind. Certainly not a snapcall. Id need more information on the player in question. My first reaction was that he was trying to take it down with a jack, unlikely that hed bet so much with q flush when the only hand beating him is nut flush and only hand calling him is a house. So to answere you question Id probably call the turn and reassess the situation on the river depending on what card falls and how he bets. Gl with the bingo;)
