Still a good few weeks of the golf season to go, so probably a bit early for this, but any thoughts on what you'll do golf-wise over the winter?

My plan is to get a decent short game together. Will probably try get to the range once at least once a week and a full round once every two weeks.

Not planning on buying much other than a couple of new wedges.

    Hi
Unfortunately I've not been as active wrt to golf so far this year. Will probably try to play a few rounds locally - I might start with par 3s initially to get back in to the swing of it, excuse the pun:) :)

Try to play once a week all the way through, defo play in the Winter League aswell, a bit of match golf in winter is always good, even if it is only a bit of craic.
As regards practice, I don't
Just finished Dr Bob's book about getting regular lessons and practicing regularly (can't remember the name of it, The Golf of Your Dreams I think) and I still won't bother, fookin stupid I know

Definitely play a 9 hole comp each weekend, with 1 or 2 visits to Celbridge driving range thrown in during the week. Haven't played much winter golf in the last few years, but am determined to come out the far side of this winter (which started in July ;) )with my game in order - rhythm, timing, short game, etc.

Mid - November to early March my clubs go in the wardrobe!

Apart from not enjoying hacking around in the mud I get tendinitis and the break really helps to allow me to play regularly for the rest of the year.

play every sat in winter league depending on course being open. this could vary as the temp greens we used to have are gone and the new greenkeeper has told me he wont be opening the course if there is ice.

booked 4 lessons with golf creche in dundrum which im going to start taking when the season is over.

may purchase a new 3 and 5 wood.

i will go to spawell driving range once a week (grass bays)

field around the corner from the house to practise the mid to low irons.

booking carnoustie for april of next year for the championship and burnside course and maybe the new and jubilee course at st. andrews in a four day trip.

Sounds good Rick i think going to the range once a week and making some practice movements out the back garden I find this really helpfull.

I plan to go to spain from thurs - sunday once a month for all the winter months.
