The first two episodes are 'out there' if you want to see them. Very good they are, too.

I still haven't finished watching the first season. I like the show but I think it's missing something that I can't quite put my finger on.

I'm surprised it got a second season, I've read that it did terrible ratings in the US.

I, and the two other people here who watch it( :( )will be pleased to know that Showtime just announced that it'll be back for a third season of 8 episodes. :D

    link

Great news. A shame it's only 8 eps, but it's better than nothing.

    Season 2 was absolutely teriffic.

Anyone know if there's any plans for a Region 2 DVD release of seasons 1 or 2? Was thinking of getting it as a pressie for someone...

Just found this series being relayed on 4-OD which currently has two episodes to download or watch by streaming. It seems pretty good. The criminal brother plot angle is straight out of the Soprano's and the politician brother has some echoes of WestWing. The second episode for me is completely spoiled by the arrival of a new emigrant from Eye Errland ( shades of Furio in the Sopranos ) who, it turns out, is actually from Northern Ireland with a strong and annoying Belfast accent. You can't help thinking that American actors cannot master any of the Irish accents which are a bit difficult to capture ( British television has cracked that one in recent years) so they try to get a Scots-Ulster accent instead which is easier but is spoils the Irish-American angle. Yes I know that a very high proportion of "Irish Americans" did actually come from Ulster but the family portrayed in Brotherhood are clearly intended to be of Irish not Ulster origin.

Has FX UK showed Season 2 already?

I thought season 2 was great, much better and with more of a purpose than season 1. Only eight episodes in season 2 but very well constructed and each episode had a storyline the end of season 2
just fizzed out and a bit of a damp squid but that's just down to the writers strike.

According to my cousins in America Season 3 is starting on the 29th of September, looking foreword to them.

great show, season 2 is good watching. . .although (is it the second last episode? lads, help me out with that one) it does contain possibly the creepiest and most cringe inducing scene ever to be shown to human eyes, it must be 8 weeks since i've seen it and i still have nightmares:eek:

Sorry to quote a year old post but I have to agree with the above! Season 1 always seemed to threaten to be something but never seemed to deliver, well maybe the last episode.

I am now watching The Shield and it delivers! As did Dexter S1!

ok, the scene in question is not so easily forgettable, i had to watch it unfold through my fingers in disbelief. . .obviously i must be over exaggerating if nobody else was similarly effected!

if you've not seen it DO NOT read the spoiler, i want everyone to share my initial reaction upon first seeing this

    Spoiler:
old guy and the granny on the bed, she's asleep. old guy is watching MTV or such with bouncing young women on screen. he gives himself an auld rub. granny feels some movement and wakes. "oh hello sailor", and proceeds to drop the hand on him. then positions herself over him heading down towards his mid-section. . .and thank fook that's the end of that scene, highly uncomfortable scene but still a great show

    my first spoiler

Plus 1 for me, I enjoyed the first 2. Doesn't look like it's anytime soon though as FX advertise new shows well in advance, months in some cases and I haven't seen an ad for this yet.
