I know theres a thread in the travel forum, but i want this to be a bit more specific to backpacking and longer trips etc

Im going to Aus for 3 months and am trying to find the cheapest/best value insurance, ive spent the last hour doing it and my head is melted.

Have tried ace, blueinsurance, just cover, eookers etc i dont mind paying an extra 5er for better cover and for a company who will pay out and not try get out of it, anyone able to offer the best one?

I'll go mental if i have to read another policy!

Spent weeks trying to find the best value backpacking for myself (fully convinced that i could get better value than the one Sayit offered) in the end i just got the visa and insurance from Sayit. The difference between them all seems to be minimal, a few million euro difference on death

The travel guides suggests that you make sure that your covered for Air ambulance if you need to travel back to ireland if seriously injured

Tis a minefield out there. I was kinda hoping there would be 1 single one thats better than all the rest.

Its much more expensive for Aus than most places.

I went with Blueinsurance Gary for what its worth, they were the most competitive when I was booking in January, hav'nt claimed for anything though so dont know whether they'd try to squirm out of a pay-out..

I heard Blue are a nightmare to claim of.
Am thing of going with these:

The bronze cover will do for £36

I was wondering about this and came across this thread:

I think I'm going to go with insureandgo.com as the lad seemed to get paid for some claims. They are backed by AIG aswell so I would imagine its the exact same.
