off my old trusty aria ta-40

i will take it apart and put in my suitcase and bolt up at my destination

Ha, fair play. Word of advice though, use metal inserts in the neck and use machine bolts to connect the neck to the body. If you're screwing straight into the wood, it'll become worn and loose over time.

Is it not horribly quiet without a soundhole of any sort?

i wouldnt say it would be, an electric that isnt plugged in isnt that quiet.
would it be difficult to play sitting?, the strings are a lot closer to your legs, and there is no where to lean your strumming arm.

good idea though, is there a leftie version:p

In a quiet room, maybe an unplugged electric is decenty audible but other then that... I mean if you were to sing along it'd totally get drowned out.

It could just be for keeping up with practice and making sure your finger tips stay hard.

Very nice work indeed. I would've put a single pickup in there at least, but none the less, it's nice.

Yeah, but you probably would have installed a Floyd and a reverse headstock, and hacked some points into it too. :p

And it would have to be a 7, naturally :D

fourmations, what a simple but brilliant idea - well done man. Now you can even go travelling without the missus. ;)

deosnt matter if it has pick ups or what as long as you get a bit of practice in.

    Greetings from the algarve!

    yep thats its sole purpose,

the guitar is working out well on my hols

its fine to play chords and anywhere up to the 7th
but its awkward if you want to go from the lower to upper frets quickly
as you have to shift its position on yer lap or belly if lying down
as it does not have enough body or weight to stay put
if you are going up and down the board

i had a big faux pas though, i forgot to pack the bridge mount bolts things
but got away with it, the bridge stays in position with the tension of the strings

    obrigado!

Nah, you see on a travel guitar like that, some details like that wouldn't really matter. Ancient1 knows what truly matters:
