Was just browsing through Play and I saw this. The trailer made it look very good but two of the three reviews I read said it wasn't very good at all.

    Has anyone here seen it?

I can't say I'd recommend it, it had potential and some parts are (sorta) original, but I found it quite boring and lacking in zombies, and some of the acting was just painful to watch.

God no. Stay away from it. I saw the hype and got it.

    As an idea it works.

However it's like watching a movie made by a bunch of amateurs. The acting is attrocious and apart from one scary moment at the start in the farmhouse the rest is ridiculous. It's like, the zombies shuffle sloooooowly. The people know zombies are around. They hear a noise and must investigate bringing only a camcorder with them. Then they all act shocked and scared when they see a zombie and when someone gets bitten by a monster that gets outpaced by a granny with a zimmer frame I just want to put my fist through the tv.

Look just don't buy it. Don't even bother wasting bandwidth getting it by other means....

I haven't heard a single good thing about this film. Seems a bit of a rip off of the book World War Z. But George A. Romero's next film is along the same lines and will be done well, with real actors and a budget, so you can wait for that :)

Yeah, I only read that today.

Sounds iffy but I'll wait untill I see it.

28 days later and the dawn of the dead remake really have ruined zombies for many people havnt they?

THEYRE SUPPOSED TO SHUFFLE SLOWLY< THEY ARE ZOMBIES AFTER ALL! :p

its always easy to get a reaction with that one eh?
No they arent Zombies as such. But it doesnt take away from the fact that we now live in a world were zombies arent scary because they dont run fast enough, and it is partly to do with the 28days/weeks films and how they have been interpreted by the masses.

We are massivley underprepared for a zombie onslaught now folks, we really need re-educated about these hideous beings!

I saw the shuffling types before I saw the speedy types. I've never liked old zombie movies because it's infuriating watching them. How does a moaning zombie moving at the speed of a snail ever catch anyone?

28 days later and that remake in the shopping centre were great because the zombies were fast. How can you be scared of something that resembles a bloodied OAP?

Pfff, old zombie movies are the best ones. They don't have to be fast. It's the sheer amount of them that makes old zombies work, sure you're faster than them but you're surrounded, and they're very hungry. Plus you believe they're dead, your body isn't going to be limber if you're a reanimated corpse. Fast ones aren't zombies, they aren't dead, they're just guys infected with a rage problem, they're not zombies.

Shuffling zombies always win out through sheer numbers, and from people walking backwards into rooms (seriously, who walks backwards into an unlit room?).

Someone told me that the zombie's in the Dawn of the dead remake slow down as the movie goes on (i havent seen it since heard that so cant say for sure), but that would make perfect sense. Just after they die they're just as fast as if alive, but as rigormortis sets in they slow down. The only scene i can remember clearly is of the guys watching them from the roof of the mall and they're all just shuffling around. Cant remember if they sprint after the bus later..

They do sprint after the bus.

If anyone doubts the power of the slow zombies just read a Max L. Brooks book.

"They've got more zombies than we have bullets!"

Saw this today and quite liked it - the acting was actually good apart from that one guy, the American, whose acting was not just bad, but completely stripped the sections in which he featured of their atmosphere. A decent film overall though.

World War Z is going to be an instant classic, I'm telling you now.

totally unsubtle crud, the dialogue is awful, oh all news tells lies bla blaa ,how radical

The screenplay for World War Z by J. Michael Straczynski is supposed to be one of the finest scripts ever written. Early word is that if the Oscars recognised all genres of film it would be the only one in consideration.

Saw Zombie Diaries ages ago and thought it was really good.

I liked the 'amateur' feel to it, gave it a realistic feel like Blair Witch or August Underground. I'd have liked more gore but I suppose they did a great job on a low budget

Are there any trailers for World War Z floating around yet? Did a search on youtube and only fan trailers are popping up.

I'd be interested to see how they film it.
