    Hi,

    Just looking into a weekend or maybe a 1 week trip to moscow to see a friend,
    as it's not in the eu, is it as straight forward as just booking a flight and going? or do i need a visa or something

    excuse the idiocy... lol

    I'm just back from Moscow, you have to get a letter of invitation from
    the hotel you are staying in, then you have to apply to the Russian embassy here in dublin for the visa, I think its about 90euro if you want to get it while
    you wait.

    The flights are about 300euro, I went with czech airlines via prague.

    I've been over in Moscow for pretty much the last 6 months with work and its a great city!! It's a beautiful city and there's so much to do there. The people will across as pretty rude but are actually really friendly.
    You can get a letter of invitation from a hotel but you should organise this as soon as possible.
