Kerry are not as good this year as they were last year, they are there for the taking and with Masters back, Cork should manage a narrow win

    Cork by 2 points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 ciggs

I think Cork will come out with a narrow victory

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,461 ✭✭✭popebenny16

I went for Kerry. Not that I don't feel that Cork could not beat them, just that I think Kerry are too cute and experienced to lose it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭jackbhoy

I think Kerry. If they had coasted to final like in previous years I would fancy Cork but i'd say the 2 games against Monaghan and Dublin have been great preperation for this, Cork have never really had a good tough test so hard to judge them.

Went for Kerry, probably on a 60/40 chance. Think Cork have a right chance though.

    Lead with Head, Kerry.

Kerry to win easy.Absolutely majestic team in full flow, have some of the greatest players ever to grace a GAA pitch.Giants of the modern game if you will. Its really men against boys, David versus Goliath and Dave is about to get put into hospital.

Absolutely everyone should back Kerry, Cork haven't a chance...;)

    Yes, i agree

I'd be surprised if Kerry don't win by more than 4 points. I know Cork pushed them all the way in Munster, but look at the semis over the last few years were the two sides've played each other. Kerry ahnialated them.

    Kerry by 5 or 6 Points that is:D ;):p:p

Would love to say Cork ( my adopted county) but Kerry have been here before and are too cute to let this game slip from their grasp.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Nalced_irl

Well, voted Cork simply cos i think they can win, but if i was honest and the head voted, it would be Kerry. Cork do have enough to win tho, but they will need to be on absolute top form to do it i think.

    Cork by 2/3

I voted Cork....it will be a close game, Cork to win by 1 point :D

    Kerry by 4 points

Went for a draw with Kerry to win the replay.

It looks like i started a trend as I started the poll for the Dublin v Kerry match. Imitation is a form of compliment. Cheers.

14 votes? People quite clearly aren't catching on here. If you want Cork to win, then you must exalt the Kerry team to the absolute hilt.:p

Kerry will probably win anyway, the Kerry jugurnaut in Croker in sunny condition is pretty much unstoppable.

    Cork by 5 points

Well, if you're going to dream, dream big.

Interesting trivia question. When was the last time Cork beat Kerry by 5 points or more in the championship ? Look it up

    Ahem...

Kerry will probably win anyway, the Kerry juggurnaut will deal better with the slippery conditions because of their overwhelming amount of experience.

Would love to see Cork do it but everything points to Kerry....yet again!! You can't deny they're an amazing team but it'd be nice for someone else to win it this year (not just saying that because I'm from Cork either)...just like I wanted Limerick to win the hurling but it's going to be another Kilkenny, Kerry year I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

I'm not really sure everything does point to Kerry. We have the best defense in the country, the best midfield, an excellent goalie and three of the best forwards as well.We certainly have the weapons to win, what matters is how strong the infamously fickle pschye of the Cork senior footballers really is and how well the likes of Conor McCarthy, O' Connor and Cussen play.

As well as that, I heard a rumour that its going to snow on Sunday, and you just know those cute Kerry whores have been training on the antarctic all year just for this eventuality..:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,798 ✭✭✭Mr. Incognito

    Lynch is out.
Masters still has a broken jaw and will be nursing that, you just know he's in for the free taking abilities. So that's Cork down their best two players if you ask me. Any other team they'd have a chance. But Kerry in Croke Park. Forget it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 184 ✭✭gerocks

    Kerry to blitz Cork.:D
I think experience and the fact that Monaghan and Dublin made Kerry "up it" will tip the scales in the Kingdoms favour.
A concern for Kerry will be the fitness of the colossus that is Dara O'Se, an unfit Dara can handle most midfielders but Murphy is not "most midfielders".
    Kerry to win.

    I hope.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,460 ✭✭✭Orizio

Another problem for Cork is that I'll be at the game. The last time I saw our senior footballers play well in the flesh was...ahhhhh...ummmm..........

I must say this thread ( and the whole GAA forum) has gone very quite since Dublin were knocked out. There does not seem to be much interest in the final, outside of Cork and Kerry of course. A Dublin Cork final probaly would have gotten more national anticapation in the build up all right.

Anyway, just a day to go know, the tension is building nicely now there here in the Real capital. Still think we can do it, won't be easy but if we win out in the mid-field, we should win overall. That's the plan anyway, hopefully!!

    Up the Rebels!!!

Your right it is a little quiet. There are about 5 or 6 regular Dub posters and I am one. The main reason its quiet is because the Dublin haters are gone and not the Dubs. Cork have a good chance. They look like the 2nd fittest team in the country (after Dublin) and have a mean defence, potent midfield and a good attack. I am going for a draw. Good luck to both teams though.

It's vexing Cork can't field a full-strength side. If Lynch and Masters are not playing i see Kerry winning by at least four points.

Man, it's getting so easy to spot a Cork person these days

    =-=

    Kerry is now 2-8
    Cork is now 0-6

feel a bit sorry for Cork. In all honesty they got an easy run into the final, one good game against a poor meath team was the only time they showed any class. I think Cork probably wouldn't make it into a top 5 of championsip teams for 2007. The performace against sligo and today are pathetic

True but you just have to admire Kerry. They've got class all over the field and even though the game is over for the last 15mins they're still contesting every ball/break like their lives depended on it, a fine exapmple of class coupled with fantastic work ethic!

Sums up the appalling standard of Gaelic football in the country when you have a team like Cork getting to the final.
They'd be better off playing handball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,367 ✭✭✭Agamemnon

Congratulations to Kerry, they are worthy champions. From a Cork point of view, it's not the end of the world - this is still a young team and it'll go towards building experience.

    A great win.
    Gooch was different class

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 266 ✭✭D. Coughlan

Oh, just go away. " A team like Cork"- ya, a top quality side who reached the Munster final like everyone else, just missed out on a win, were put into a open draw and got to play Louth and Silgo, who they overcame. Then had a semi against a rated Meath side which they won as underdogs by ten points. Just because Kerry outclassed Cork in the final does not mean that they did not deserve to be there

Sure dublin should have been given another crack at kerry sure cause their so great.

Them are the deals you get over a season.

Cork did deserve to be there yesterday whether they had an easy run to the final or not.You can only beat who is put in front of you.Dublin lost to Kerry fair and square in a very close match but we didn't whinge that we should have been in the final or get another crack at Kerry.Hopefully that will come next year.

Despite yesterdays debacle,it was nearly on a par with last years final. The football yesterday was played by Kerry.I thought Cork looked like they were settling in in the first 5 minutes and they looked up for it.However, they completely folded when Donaghy scored the second goal.

Unless Dublin improve and Tyrone get their injury crisis sorted out,I can't see anybody touching Kerry next year.Cork have had their chances like others and couldn't do it.Kerry are head and shoulders above the rest.

my preconcieved ideas that Moderators were in the know about things has been well and truly shattered, what rubbish. Where u goin with best midfield, best defence and best of all best goalkeeper, oh its hard to right this without laughing. really when u come out spouting stuff like that there is only one outcome-- egg on your face.:D :D:D:D:D:D

Whats that joke about the cork goalkeeper wanted by the garda again?

    Up the kingdom

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,715 ✭✭✭Nalced_irl

Jesus, even when were out all crap comes back to us anyway.

The joke was: Aparentally the Kerry team bus was vandalised during the game. The garda are questioning the cork keeper about his whereabouts between 3 and 5 pm on sunday.

jank: last year and now this year, as soon as cork go out, you type complete tripe. You actually made some decent posts on the run up to the final but now again its back to the crap. If your replying to something i missed, that was THAT bad, then fair enough, but something tells me its just your sour grapes after the final.

O Coughlan: Cant see what your replying to so not gonna say anything except of course cork deserved to be there. They won the games they played and got there, thats all anyone can do. They are a very good side that are gonna get even better with time. Had Dublin/Tyrone/Armagh etc played Kerry in that final, i dont think any would have won unless they played out of their skin. Its a typical Kerry sight, whatever you see up to the final, ignore. Once they set their sights in the final, they go 2 or 3 gears up and can destroy teams. That was not the Kerry we saw in the semi`s. It was like 18 players V 15 really.
