    Hey,

Just had my first taste of Airsoft at the weekend and really enjoyed it.
I have a mate who goes to meetups fairly regularly and while I could continue to get a loaner, I'm very tempted to get my own.

I'm living in the US so am I right in thinking I should have better access to cheaper/better value options?

I've been looking on craigslist/ebay so far this is one of the main packages that caught my eye.
It's all metal, claims to be 380fps out of the box and comes with the battery and charger.
I don't necessarily believe the 380fps but I think anything over 300fps and I'd be pretty happy.

    Any thoughts on this package?
    Any experience with JG?

I like the M4 but I'd also go with an MP5, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them.
Ideally I'd like to not go over $200 give or take a few dollars.

    Killian

Before anyone starts screaming about it being over 1 Joule, he's in the US, therefore 1 Joule law doesnt apply :D

Honestly man you would be better off asking around some of the US forums, they will know the territory and the law better. I know that most of hte US sites operate at 1 joule(ish) for fully auto and up to 500fps for snipers but these are only skirmishing rules not applicable across the board.

Moreover, there should be a store near you that you can walk into and check out the kit in person, something that is a major bonus.

Count yourself lucky, Airsoft is fairly big in CA ... it almost doesnt exist in IL.

The charter for this forum disallows any discussion of airsoft over 1 joule as they're considered firearms in Ireland. (In the case of AEGs, fully automatic firearms can't even be licensed)

I know you're not from here, but we can't have one rule for the Irish and one for International players. It's a forum rule so effects all.

As Hivemind said, you'd be better off asking this question in a U.S based forum.
