Sad news from the opening week. :(
Kevin Everett sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening spinal-cord injury while trying to make a tackle during the Buffalo Bills' season opener and is unlikely to walk again, the surgeon who operated on him Monday said.

Everett was hurt Sunday after he ducked his head while tackling the Denver Broncos' Domenik Hixon during the second-half kickoff. Everett dropped face-first to the ground after his helmet hit Hixon high on the left shoulder and side of the helmet.
Bills' Everett likely to be paralysed after 'catastrophic' neck injury

Actually, the doctors are now optomistic that he'll walk again:

That is very good to hear. You never like to see anybody injured that badly in a football game.

Brilliant stuff. Was shocked to hear on MNF on sky when Halling mentioned it. Been a huge amount of injuries in this first week.

Ya, heard on ATH & PTI that he's voluntarily moving his arms and legs and doctors are optimistic... Great news...
