Saw those yesterday at the Kilkenny Motor Club show, yes?

My ma had a Feugo ("poor man's porsche" is what they used to be known as) and she loved it. Only scrapped it a couple of years ago :(

Nicest 15 I've seen in a long, long time - are those original wheels? They look like R5 Turbo 2 wheels which'd be rare in their own right....

    Hi Guys,,

Yep, they were at Kilkenny Motor Club Show---I'm a member.;)
The wheels on the 15 are actually wheels off a R5 ALPINE/Gordini TURBO and are a popular upgrade especially in FRANCE. They fill out the arches better unlike the originals which look a bit weedy because the car is actually based on an R12. The alloys on the Fuego are actually a slightly modified version of the wheels on the R5 Turbo 2.

    Thanks for the kind comments

    John

It was a really lovely day out! Congrats to all involved :D

I was there in the white vw hitop camper. Lots of folks interested in it, so very glad I took the plunge and drove in the 'display' area.
Dog did very well in the dog show too.

Was thrilled to see the Fuego, don't see too many about these days and I have fond memories of driving my mum's one. Yours looks very well!

Thanks again for the kind words..We have had Renault's in the family for years. I used to have 2 Fuegos back in the early 90's when they were just cheap transportation. When I came across this one is looked very like to one I had when I was 21 so I had to buy it.
Thanks for bringing in the VW. Its great to get people bringing in outside lots as it makes the show---we all know each others cars in the club,so variety is great..

    Thanks again

Great to see such nice classic Renaults about!
(I worked for a Renault specialist at one stage).

Did you import the 15 from the Isle of Man (i.e. I noticed the the 'MAN' registration)?

Incidentially, I recall seeing several mint Fuego's in everyday use in New Zealand when I was there in '04.

P.S. : Why did you fit "Irish style" 'classic' plates to the cars while still retaining the UK/IoM registrations??
I've noticed some people doing this with imported cars. Do they think the revenue/gardai are stupid and won't notice the non-Irish reg if you fit classic plates??!:D
