    Hi All!

I'm a newby so sorry for any silly questions :D

I'm looking to do a class to keep fit and as a form of self defense. I did aikido for a few months, years ago so I was considering doing that or else maybe thai boxing. I've been to one thai boxing class last year and i found it very intense because i was so so unfit. Kinda clueless on the whole martial arts thing so any help would be really appreciated!

Any1 know where (or if!) these classes are on in cork or have any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

P.S Should point out that i'm VERY unfit!

    hi,

i teach in the glen resource centre, on glen avenue.

check out www.jungshin-tkd.com for more details. although we don't actually do tkd anymore in the adults class.

you could also check out http://www.youtube.com/jungshin for some basic idea of what we do.

you are always welcome to have a go at any time ;)

Fighting Fit Gym is the home to Cork Thai-Boxing Club and Base Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Located on McCurtin Street

As above the info for Base BJJ is on www.bjjcork.com and you will find any info your looking for on Cork thai Boxing at www.irishthaiboxing.com/forum

I wouldnt worry about the fitness cos no matter what you train in, you should get fit while doing it, so maybe try a few places and see what you like.

    Enjoy

    As Andrew mentioned above.

Your more than welcome to train in Fighting Fit. Just pop in and ask for Myself (Liam) for the BJJ or Anthony or Dave for the Thai Boxing. Its a good work out ,,and you get a chance to learn something new. First session is FREE for BJJ;)

    c u there:)

    Taekwon-Do classes in;

    Millstreet
    Kanturk
    Coachford
    Ballyvorney

and to be honest i'm not sure if they're all in Cork, but anyway!

These classes are sport orientated - no self defence.

There's loads of TKD clubs in Cork city too if that's what the OP is interested in.

Ah I'm sure there'd be a few wrist locks thrown in there somewhere. ;)

LOL, to be honest I think my last few demo's of SD in gradings kind of elimanted them famous wrist locks from being taught!
