[REQ] Spectacles band?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a band you can attach to your glasses to stop them dropping off your face? I don't mean the bands that attach to your glasses that prevent them from falling if/when they drop off your face. I mean something tight that would keep them on your face at all times. I sweat a lot when working and my glasses slip off.....sorry if this is not strictly appropriate for Bargain Alerts but I'd really appreciate some help with this. Thanks

A good sports shop like Great Outdoors should have what you need. Sweat shouldn't make your glasses fall off though - are you sure they fit properly? Go back to your opticisn snd get them checked, they should be able to adjust the fit easily.

  • When I sweat, I really sweat and they start slipping off especially when I look down. They're fine the rest of the time though.

The arms and especially the tangs(?) that go behind the ears should hold them on, sweat or no sweat? I test fit by shaking my head vigorously. What happens when you do this when you're not sweaty? Do they fly off?

  • No movement when not sweating and shaking head vigorously

Great Outdoors then! Large opticians may have them too. Basically a neoprene-type band with tubes that slip over end of spec arms.

I got something like this for orienteering & general sports, I think it might be just the thing you are looking for. I bought mine in a pharmacy.

    3 or 4 euro.

The one I bought was more of an elastic-type band and has kept the specs always.

The one I referred to is a lot cooler than that. Note 'cooler' <> 'less sweat'! Probably more.
