Just wondering if anyone here had picked up a strida folding bike (www.strida.co.uk)? I've seen a few of them around town and they look like a sturdy bike and they seem to fold well. Not to sure what sort of distance you could do comfortably on them though. Ideally I'd love to get one to cycle to the Luas terminal out in Tallaght (2 miles) and then at the other end Busaras to Ringsend. I currently use a cheapo hybrid to get to the Luas terminal in Tallaght and lock it there and then walk the other end.

Anyone got any expirence of these bikes? Anyone tried to travel with them on the Luas before?

    Cheers.

I bought a second hand one (Strida 2) on eBay towards the end of last year to use for commuting between Heuston and city centre.
It's never been used for a long journey (I changed job soon after, so back to car), but the few times I rode it locally (out for a little spin to see how it felt) I was impressed.
I think it would be ideal for your trip as it folds down to a neat size to carry onto the Luas.

I was going to sell it on eBay in the next few weeks as I don't have a use for it now, so PM if you're interested. I'm abroad on hols till the end of next week.
