Don't bother, they're crap. There's only 8 available channels on it, not 8 plus 36 subchannels as a decent set would normally have. Anyone could find your channel and monitor it within 10 seconds.
Also VOX and headsets are two different things. VOX is a mode thats selectable on the unit, it just means that the radio only broadcasts when the user is talking, IE: it's voice activated, or for that matter noise activated. Shots from your aeg or gbb, wind, a fart, anything will start a broadcast on that mode. A headset is an add-on that just lets you talk while the radios in your pocket. Two different things totally.

Basically, in my professional opinion, don't bother. 30 yoyos seems like a good buy but its false economy. Save it, add another 30 to it and get a set of Cobras or Motorolas. There's a dozen reasons as to why which I won't list.

Well most decent radios have channel scanner anyway - so its not that hard to listen in on people. The trick is to communicate such that someone listening gets a minimum of useful information.

As for vox - just disable it on the handset and use the mike for normal push-to-talk.

I was just pointing out that VOX and headset are different things and shouldnt be advertised as a VOX headset. I know they can be switched off. And the channel scanner on radios won't scan the sub channels, just the 1-8 standard frequency set. The 36 subchannels for each frequency aren't scanned by regular pmr's. Not even Motorola XTN's do that. That's why they're good to have, short of someone actually having a radio scanner on that freq set, they can't be picked up on.

Those lidl radios are just toys, I had a set of those in the shape of "Turtle-coms" almost 20 years ago.

    totally of this subject.

In B.&Q they are doing 3 cases together for 19.00 euro stick a bit of faoam in there and your gbbs are safe for transport.

Its one black case with the other 2 inside each one smaller then the next ( Doh )

1st is black 2nd blue 3rd orange touch of paint or just give it to your sis .

Off-Topic as well, but just a thought on cases. If you're going to go to the bother of getting a case, get one that is flight-capable (i.e. sturdy and lockable). It'll cost you more but a) you have it, b) it's gonna be able to take a beating, and c) you don't have a load of cases cluttering up the place that get used once in a blue moon.

I'm currently looking at a replacement case for my current flight case (long story), and the Hardigg Storm cases are looking very, very good although expensive (I also saw one up close at Ground-Zero with a Systema M-4 in it). Life-time guaruantee, and they wont have the problems I have currently with integrated locks.

And if you want custom-cut foam, they offer a service.

I've gone right off cases with integrated locks after my recent issues with my flight-case. These issues also involved a flight :p

lidl and aldi do smallish metal lockabe cases from time to time, big enough to hold a few pistols or maybe 2 mp7s, pretty deep i use mine to hold a Boss ME50(guitar multi-pedal), BUT it smells like ass, not just a bad smell but actually like ass, its so rank i have to air out my peedal before using it.

    yeah...
I saw it but didn't change it, i thought, "People who can use airsoft equipment responsibly are far too mature to stoop to that level, and if they aren't gonna point it out then i'm not gonna change it"

    Live and learn i guess

And why is this thread still going, cheepo radios = crap, case closed.

I'll refer you to my comments about integrated locks. Lockable cases are lockable cases, it's all about the locks and what type they are. After personal experience not long ago, I'm incredibly wary of any sort of lock that cannot be easily replaced if need be.

And how many of those sparks are travelling via air?

I am, me, right here *waves arms*

I'm an aircraft electrician. I get all my flight cases for my equipment for free. However, I've never once recieved one that I'd even consider putting my aeg or gbbs in.

Eh, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean. We have a cheap €40(Got it for €20) set of Activate Challenges. They can scan all the subchanells and we picked up everyone at HRTA. They we using something like 5-03 and we just scanned and saved the channel. After a while we agreeed not to monitor each other.

Yes the locks are replaceable doesnt take a genius to replace one ,
for the idea of flight thats a question only you can answer , not even the sparks as im sure thay dont go on holiday and bring an aeg with them .
Like come on , what do yu want for 19 yo yos .

Drop into BQ if you dont like dont purchase, take can take a view knocks , but basically they will only be in the back of me car lemming, just to keep away from naked eye so to speak ( what the eye dont see the heart wont want )
