Not certain about the availability of the following- but just picked up a

Sony Bravia 40" LCD tv, model KDL-40S2530 along with an upscaling HDMI DVD Recorder (that both plays back and records into DivX) model RDR-GX350 for 1149

I think most of the Bravia panels are coming with a free upscaling HDMI DVD recorder (same model as above) not bad- it retails at 189 on its own.....

Even better.... I bought the Philips 42PFL7662D (Full HD 1080p), €1410 when you buy online. You can pick up in any store you wish.

Same telly was €1999.99 in Currys on the same day. Mind you I could have bought it in a couple of much smaller places than Curry's for about €1700.

Well done Powercity. Great customer service also BTW in my experience albeit on this one transaction.

Powercity will also typically give a fair chunk of the cost of the dvd player/recorder off if you don't want it. I've seen others in the past only prepared to give a very small discount (less than 25% of the cost of the player/recorder in some cases) when running similar offers.

You'd prob get that Sony for a grand without the recorded from them

Or throw in a wall mount to sweeten the deal :D

I bought a 40" Sony Bravia in Power City in Drogheda about a month ago now Best decision I've ever made!

Didn't bother going FullHD as I want it for my PS3 and most games don't even support FullHD.

Power City are fantastic. Can't complain.

Always get the online prices before going down to the shop. Then when you're buying it they'll bring the price down to the same as the web price. No hassle at all. Got my 37" LCD there a couple of months ago. Even before the discount they were cheaper than the other shops.

Pretty sure it does NOT record into divx.
