Using old digibox

I moved a year ago and brought the 2 digiboxes with their cards.

I am now looking at getting Sky put into the house we are in now.

question is.... If I get a dish and new box hooked up with one of the old boxes (in another room) will I get anything through the old box? Or will I have to get the card re-activated, thus having to pay multiroom again.

    Cheers

in the 2nd room you will get all the FTA free satellite channels. you may have to add some of them to the "other" channels menu. you can also revert the box putting the BBC's on 101 etc (if it is not already reverted)

It is also possible to purchase an FTV card for your old sky boxes, this will give you extra channels such as CH4, CH5, Sky 3, Five Us, Five Life, and Fox News...expect to pay approx €100

If you haven't used the Digiboxes for several months, they will have missed the firmware updates and won't work properly. Leave them connected and plugged in for a few days. Or you can try forcing them to update with the "backup" button.

they havent been used since October last year.

    thanks for the tips guys.

I should be able to talk the boss into getting it now, since she'll still have telly in the bedroom.

On another note, piped Chorus is torture, I'm really missing my sports! They still havent upgraded the system to digital in my area yet.
