any veggies out there eat chinese food from take aways/delivery?

Is the vegitarian stuff safe as when i look at chinese recipies on the internet there is always fish/oyster sauce or chicken stock.
Do the chinese consider these items to be vegitarian friendly?

I personally never order chinese food but am just curious.

I have eaten in chinese restaurants rarely, they seemed to accomodate my vegetarianness well.

    hi Tar,
do you ask if they use fish products and chicken stock in the vegitarian dishes?

I have only eaten once or twice in there, as I'm picky, but I ask. If in doubt just always ask.

if you make sure to ask then they are usually quite helpful. but you do have to be careful of stocks. great tofu though! ;)

I worked in a chinese restaurant years ago and there is chicken stock in everything. they have big pots of boiling chicken bones which they dip into for the sauces. dont get me started on the msg. shovel fulls is the term i would use.
