just wondering how many of you have booked rooms in the hotel your debs was/is in, and if so how did it go? I don't mean what went on inside the room ;) , I mean did you have trouble checking in that late, checking out in the morning in time to catch the bus home at 5.30 or whatever, any trouble with bouncers etc? mine is in 2 weeks in the Newgrange Hotel and I'm reeeeeeeeaaallly nervous :)

Hi OP, yeah I booked a hotel room for my debs a few years ago and it was fine. I booked into the room earlier that day and left clothes and toiletries for the next day. I had keycards for the room which I needed to show the porter when it was time for the leaba and there was no hassle. I couldn't imagine there would be a problem unless you decided to bring 6 of your mates up for a party!

Phone the hotel about their procedures for late check-ins. Generally these aren't a hassle at all, but sometimes they'll have a slight difference in how to do things.

Why are you bothering with a room at all? If you're going to be checking in late and leaving to get on a bus again by 5.30 in the morning then that means you'll be using the room for a maximum of 2 hours. Why bother? It's just a waste.

Yeah, just use the toilets to shag your date.

Don't mind that previous poster tbh, a room is a great idea I think. Classy.

Shag/roidin is not the be all and end all of a Debs.
OP, ignore people who insinuate that it is.

If you're feeling nervous/pressured then not having a room could be a good reason to avoid the situation.

    Woah woah woah woah.

    No-one here has insinuated anything.

I didn't shag my date after my debs, and there certainly was no pressure to do so.

But this poster clearly has need for a room, for whatever reason.

no i'm not feeling pressured at all, we've talked about it and agreed it'd be nice to have somewhere to go for some privacy for a couple of hours before breakfast and to freshen up, etc. to whoever said it would be a waste, you have no idea how wrong you are :) I'm just a natural born worrier and I keep thinking something will go wrong :(

Well if you've talked about it then nothing at all to worry about.

    Ring hotel.
    Book Room.
Tell them you'll be checking in late.
    FF>>> to day of Debs.
    Get ready.
    Go to hers.
    Pose for photos.
    Get in Limo.
    Arrive at Debs.
    Check in.
    Eat meal.
    Drink some beverages.
Go to room at whatever time you like.
    Get jiggy.
    Get jiggy.
    Get jiggy.
    Go and have brekkie.
    Go back to room.
    Get jiggy.
    Catch bus.
    Arrive home jiggified.

Ring ahead, confirm it will be ok to get into the hotel late. once you have done that you are laughin.

also, if you are doing the mummy daddy photo thing, might be best to bring a rucksack with gear and check in when you arrive at the debs. as checking in, going home then going back sounds a bit arduous.

We didn't book a room for the fair reason that we organised an extended bar and then just hopped on the bus home after breakfast (which was half an hour after last orders!). We went to the Leisureplex to play bowling, but it's no longer open 24 hours. An option is that you can get someone to pick you up from the hotel later that day so you can get a lie in? Or if you drive already drive your car down early that day, check in, go off and get ready and then you can drive back up the next day when you're good and ready to drive!
