See the front cover of the latest CAR Magazine:

    http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/magazine.php?issue=14&issue_territory=UK

It sounds mega. Apparently it'll be an F430 competitor - so not the mega-bucks that the F1 was. It seems Ron Dennis dislikes the compromises inherent in the SLR so this will be a pure sports car with a compact size and 'usable' performance. It won't be chasing Veyron-type figures.

Now the thing is - I think I've seen this car in the flesh!

    Sort of...

A friend of a friend works for McLaren & we were given a tour there last week - I think I saw it hidden by a sheet on the factory floor. The shape of the rear-spoiler gives it away and it was the only car covered up.

I'm not into 'hypercars'. Sports/supercars like the 911 float my boat more and the P11 seems to be along the same lines.

Looks interesting on the cover. The 'New McLaren F1' headline was just stupid though.

It says exclusive images - are they of the actual production car or is it just a concept? Not sure why they say it's aimed at the F430. The F430 successor will be out by 2010 with at least 550 BHP. Any info on expected performance figures?
