I saw someone making a thread and getting some good feedback so I figured I'd ask as well.

So I'm looking for some suggestions and comments on these parts.
I've pretty much just picked them out on hunches and quick googling but I don't trust myself as I'm no expert. So I could use some expert help!
I will be playing games like Call of Duty 4, MoH AA and of course Tabula Rasa. Other than that in windows I just watch movies and play poker (but even my old pc can do that lol)

    PROCESSOR:
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Socket LGA775, 8MB, BOXED w/fan
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=330169
    255 euro
+++++ Should I get the Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0GHz 1333Mhz Socket LGA775, 4MB .. instead? It is around the same price.

    RAM:
    OCZ DDR2 PC6400 2048MB KIT, Spec Ops Ed ,w/two 1024MB PC6400 XTC, CL5-5-5-12
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=323130
    91 euro
+++++I'm sure there are better alternatives here. If anyone could look in the RAM list and help me out!

    HARDDISK:
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=339186
    66 euro
+++++ I don't really need more than 250gb. I'm doing fine with 120gb right now. Do you see any better choice for a 250gb harddisk? From the tests I read I believe this is faster than the Spinpoint when it comes to games?

    GRAPHICS CARD:
    XFX GeForce 8800GTS 500M 320MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, 2xDVI/HDTV/HDCP,500/1600Mhz
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=331406
    282 euro
+++++ I have a 1680x1050 native res monitor. I really can't go any higher on the price here. Is this a good choice?

    MOTHERBOARD:
    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3, P35, Socket-775, ATX, GbLAN, DDR2, ICH9, PCI-Ex16
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=336805
    110 euro
+++++ I really have no clue about motherboards. I just picked this cause it looked pretty and apparantly supports Duo & Quad. Help. Should I go with something else in the same priceclass?

    CASE:
APLUS Case Qubic, Black Midi tower (Without PSU)
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=309319
    43 euro
+++++ Seems like a nice case

    PSU:
    NorthQ 4001AT, ATX 400W Silent, 120mm Fan, 12-17dBA, 2xSATA, PCI-E, 20/24pin
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=311011
    52 euro
    +++++ Is this enough?

    SUMMARY:
For the PRICE I can't really spend much more than this at all. I already have a Soundblaster 4 Audigy Pro I think it will do fine still. I have network cards already.
Mouse and keyboard I don't need. The total delivery cost is 24 euro or something. I think komplett is the best place for me living in Ireland. Is there anything else I'm missing?

    Total 900 euro / 605 uk pounds / 1200 usd

Hi, thanks for the tip. That site looks much cheaper!
I'm not sure which one of the cheaper cases to get there though. Which PSU do you suggest?

to be honest I wouldnt bother with hardwareversand. I had awful trouble with them and after about 1 month and a half or crap going on they finally gave me my money back (plus 70quid extra by accident lol)

komplett has far bettert customer service and its far easier to pay komplett than hardwareversand.
if it was me tho, id get a better psu - people seem to skimp on the PSU's and next thing u know ur computer has blown up and ur parts are fried. if u can, get something like this one:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=327671

    or this

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=327672

from what i know, corsair are meant to be good PSU manufacturers

some people have ordered from hardwareversand and had no problems. only thing i hate was that u have to pay by bank draft which takes over a week to go through to their account (closer to two weeks), then however long to arrive. i had problems with them cancelling all my orders everytime, and then when i made a new order, it wud turn out that one of the parts wasnt coming in for like 2 weeks, so i made a new order, and then they cancelled the new order again, and chaos ensued.

in short, komplett is by far easier, if a little more expensive

well i had great service with them nuthing went wrong at all , if your buying from HW id recommend a bequiet or a muskin 650W for future proofing

the corsair ones are excellent also ,

hardwareversand is cheaper and deliver takes a week and a bit but ive had no troubles, people have trouble with komplett aswell its just the luck of the draw L:D
