    Hi

On the recommendations from reading threads here I finally got a canon EOS 400d.

Have to say the ergonomics arent too bad even though I had heard that this was the one bad thing about this camera!

Anyway, my primary use is gonna be portraits (of my up and coming expanding family!) so just wondering what type of lenses would be good for this, somethings like a fixed focal length like the 50mm f1.8?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks guys.

Plus now that I have a serious camera, how do I learn to use it! Any good websites for this?

BTW Im in Waterford so I might see you guys here!

Yep have some great family shots with the 50mm 1.8 for the price it should be a definate buy.

Also just got a 30mm F1.4 from Sigma and will be using that for portraits and street photography as well.
