Haven't really posted in ages due to busyness and generalness. Anyway, just thought I'd put some stuff up for C&C since I haven't in a while. This is Rebecca howles, a singer whose new E.P is out in the following months I belive. Pics were taken in D2 on Harcourt street.

The first one is a great shot, but should be in landscape maybe? The angle the photo was taken at makes it look a bit weird (I know you needed that angle for the reflection of the singer, but it just looks like the floor is the wall or something). Also, can you remove the spotlight from behind the left side of the singer?

TBH the second one doesn't do much for me. Dunno why, it just doesn't have it. Too much purple backdrop maybe?

The third one is okay, but I think the red in the backdrop makes the model look very pale. I wonder what a b&w conversion would look like?

The fourth one I like, it's very moody.

    Just my 2c.

The first thing I noticed on the top one was that you got the seam in the carpet just left of the guitar neck. It distracts the photo somewhat. Can you magic it out and try cropping closer as mentioned above?

Hi RCN. Technically they appear well taken - nothing wrong here. But, I don't think the backgrounds do your subject or technical shooting skills justice.

I like/love the concept of the first and the pose/mask/suggestion in the second is well constructed. I don't fancy the pose in the 3rd and the 4th is ok (but a little something strange going on around the eye?).

My main criticism so is with regard to the backgrounds but I appreciate that such backgrounds may have been in the singer’s brief to you and may be part of what she is trying to create on her EP photography(?). And - this of course may just be my taste.

    Cheers.
