Activating Microsoft Office

I got a new laptop recently and got MS Office with it. The problem is I cant activate it. I tried a few times but now it is in an "expired state". The only option available now is "Convert". I click this and follow the instructions and enter my product key and then it tells me to restart the programme. When I do this it returns to an "expired state" all over again.

Any ideas what I can do?

Is there an option to activate it over the phone?

Was it the full or trial version you got with it? If it was just a trial then you will have to pay for a new licence to convert it to the full version.

Why is it a rip off having to pay for something??? If you don't wanna pay just get OpenOffice instead...

When I bought the laptop they said MS Office was included. They never said anything about having to buy another product key.
