TV/Video Production Training - Places Available

    It's that time of the year again and the orgainisation that I work for is offering more training in television and video production.
    The Media Co Op/Near TV Productions
    Community Media and Television Training Course
    Starts September 25th.


    3 x theory modules about communinty media, research techniques and media law.
    4x Television/video production modules (Below is the course outline which may be subject to minor changes) this course involves three core modules where you learn about community media.

    These run on 25/9 2/10 and 9/10 at 7.30pm in Colaiste Dhulaigh in Coolock.

    And the cost is just €50

    The TV training runs on Saturdays The dates are as follows, October Saturdays 13th & 27th and November 3rd & 10th.


    These are all day sesions and take place in the Northside Civic Centre, Bunratty Rd, Dublin 17.

    There are limited numbers as this is a small group of only 8 trainees.
    Community Television Production
    Course Outline
    4 modules on Saturdays 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
    1st Saturday
    • Introduction
    • Planning overview
    • How does TV work
    • Working with the camera (camera functions, tripod)
    • Practice
    • Shot sizes, camera movements, shot angels
    • Picture composition (space and time, reduction of sight, crossing the line)
    • Construction of a sequence
    • Practice

    2nd Saturday
    • Practice (recapitulation of Saturday 1)
    • Writing down ideas (Expose, Treatment, Storyboard)
    • Planning a programme (thematic research, recce)
    • Practice
    • Journalistic elements (Interview, Vox Pop, Statement, Commentary)
    • Cutaway shots
    • Practice and Homework (planning a project)

    3rd Saturday
    • Planning a project
    • Recording the project
    • Introduction to iBook
    • Basic editing in iMovie

    4th Saturday
    • Editing the project
