I've been wondering, who's responsible for determining a revised target under Duckworth/Lewis. I presume they use some sort of computerised system or something.

    Anyone know?

Fair enough. The whole thing is so confusing though!

Put simply, the figure set as the D/L target is a fraction of what Team A scores in their first innings in a rain-reduced one-day game.

The fraction being dependent on runs scored, wickets lost, overs played and the amount of overs/playing time lost due to the rain.

And it is now computerised. It used to be chart based, until it was tweaked in 2003.
