SKY+ Free Subscription

I was disappointed with SKY Sports and SKY Movies. Only watched a few football games (SKY don't do the Golf anymore - Setanta got it) and the Movies were useless (RTE had better ones). Anyways the only reason I kept them was the normal €15 a month SKY+ subscription fee was free when you had a Sports or Movies Package.

Now I hear that the SKY+ subsciption of 15 euros is gone. So I got the basic channels (3 mixes) for 24 euros and I can still use the SKY+ recorder.

Hope everyone knows this as I haven't seen it posted here before.

    Regards
    EoC

Yes you can still use the Sky plus features no matter what package you have....I'm still counting down the days when you can use the plus features as an fta option...

That will be close to infinity then.

You can now pay Sky to enable your FTV card to record.... but its just worth a couple of quid extra for a mix.

Are you sure about this one?
    Is it available in Ireland?
    How much does it cost?

Yes, DMC is right about the FTV (Freesat From Sky) card.

It is not available in Republic of Ireland, as we cannot avail of the Freesat From Sky viewing cards here.

I think it costs £10 per month.

Didnt know you could pay £1o for the features in the UK so thanks for that Info DMC and byte for confirming it...a bit steep but handy to know nevertheless...I would wonder if an English person living in the republic could avail of this...who didnt want the RTE through their Stbs

The minimum package here is €20 though :( so that is what is needed for the recording features of the box you own. Ridiculous.
