Faster response time on the second one. Generally a faster response time means its better for games, especially FPS types.

the contrast ratio is the exact same if u compare them, its the responce time and veiwing angles that are different.

the more expensive one has TCO '99... yay! I love spot the difference. Seriously though if it was me, i'd say the €80 and get the cheaper one, put that money towards better ram or a 400GB HDD.

The more expensive one is using a different panel, the 5ms one is the standard 22" TN panel in alot of cheap 22" monitors.

The LG http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335466 has the same panel as the more expensive Samsung, so should be perfect for you.

The Samsung 226CW which is the more expensive of the two also features a more advanced back lighting system and wide colour gamut.

According to Samsung all 226CW's will have genuine Samsung panels ensuring maximum picture quality as a problem with the 226BW series was that due to their popularity Samsung began using panels from different factories not just their own so you were playing lucky dip with panels of inferior quality.

The 226CW is very new and I have not seen a reviews of it yet but if it is a Samsung panel then it should at least be on par with the original Samsung 226BW's which were great displays till Samsung started changing the internals.

you won't.. because you won't have anything to compare it to. My friend ordered the expensive one and got shipped the cheaper one by mistake. He was going to return it but then realised it was such a step up from his previous monitor that the hassle wasn't worth it, so he took his refund and kept it. Unless you have both monitors beside each other running some kind of stress test then I don't think you will have any problems.
