    is anybody going to this?
    randy couture and "several" gracie members in attendance, two days of seminars included. sounds good until you see the price tag. 500 for two people plus 350 for b&b and then on top of that the prices of travel/flights

    is anyone from the irish mma scene up for any of the awards?

    i got it in the post, its an invitation only event. says the event will take place in october and will be covered on tv3, josie murray is running the whole thing. there's awards going for best promoter of mma
    best mma fighter
    best instructional dvd
    most dedication to a martial art
    etc etc

    i'm assuming anyone who's ever been to one of the seminars set up by josie will have gotten their invite in the post.

    I am a little confused,it must cost a fair whack to get all the big names over,so why limit it to invitation only.This sounds like a big money loser for Josie?:confused:

    also just realised its on same wknd as Dublin open,is this for real?

    well he said on the letter that 700 people are expected to show up. so if thats 350 plus guest thats €175,000 . . . plus merchandising, plus he probably gets a cut from the hotel since he's asking people for the money so he can book it of them.

    plus sponsers . . . i've a feeling he's not too worried about losing money
