In the market for a new monitor, currently using an old dell CRT. I know that CRTs will be sharper and brighter than LCDs, but dont have the room for one anymore. Are LCDs responsive enough to game on with decent resoloution? Heard bad things about artifacting ,ghosting and dead pixels.

They used to be bad but are equal to crts. I've never noticed any ghosting. Dead pixels are a problem but I have never suffered from them.

ive never noticed anything wrong with playing on an lcd, presuming you have a decent pc to play it on?

The only reason to keep using a CRT would be if you compete in games at a very high level where a few milliseconds can make a difference.

Maybe you should try this on an LCD and a CRT and see if you get the same score,

    It's a scientific reaction timer.
I'd be surprised if you got better scores on a CRT all the time then on an LCD
