    For going out.. Limerick events
    http://www.limerickpost.ie/events/

Ask this shower to send you a copy of the Limerick events guide also

There should be a map included in the book.

As for shopping, in my experience there are not that many shops that are not in other cities/towns. but there are a few local stores around.

The Crescent shopping centre (accessible by bus from city centre every twenty minutes or so) is good for a browse. Like billy said, nothing you won't find in other cities but very centralised.

If you want to do a bit of touring I'd suggest a visit to the Hunt Museum - http://www.huntmuseum.com/ and King John's Castle - http://www.shannonheritage.com/Attractions/KingJohnsCastle/ both well worth a visit.

The pubs, resturants, clubs and shopping are covered above but if there's anything in particular you want to know more about just ask.

Trinity Rooms is on Bank Place (very very end of O'Connell Street and take a left would be the handiest directions...the name of the street will change from o'connell to patrick to rutland...but it's practically the same street)
