I didn't think RS was that good, I don't know why they're bothering to make a sequel unless it's completely different from the first. Graphics were lacklustre, gameplay was pretty decent, etc. Let's hope the sequel is an improvement :)

Got this friday and well impressed - it's in another league compared to the original. Graphics are as shiney as Mario Galaxy (that's pretty damn good in wii-speak ;) ).

Right then - to give yez some idea of the gameplay...

Moving out from the base, I had a mission to save someone or other, didn't really care as I just wanted to get maulin' asap.
I come across a group of guys trying to break into a building. Three grunts, one with a machine gun, another with armour, the last one the most basic of grunts.
I hold A and B and charge my katana; tap the Z button to select the guy with the machine gun and off I go.
When I get near, they see me and start coming - I get to the machine gunner and swing the wiimote up - this blows the guy clear off his feet and up in the air in slow motion.
I hit A again and I jump up to him and with a heavy horizontal swing, smack him down to the ground with a satisfying whack.
He's on his back squirming with a finishing move icon above his head beckoning me to do a down motion with the wiimote.
I oblige and my character jumps on him thrusting the katana into his chest in a nice brutal fashion.
The auto targeting takes over and I'm pointed at the basic grunt. I move between the two baddies and the Z button icon pops up indicating I'm about to be hit from behind.
Hit Z and holding A (guard) I turn and deflect the armoured guys attack. I hover around him and wait for him to try again - he does and I push the wiimote and nunchuk forward holding A just at the right time - this is a special move that deflects the blow and stuns the baddie and I take three strong swipes at him while he's disorientated.
This also knocks him to his knees so press A and thrust the wiimote forward for another special move, removing the rest of his armour.
He's back on his feet and about to try to hit me when I duck sideways (A + direction on nunchuk) then shoot with B. Do this quickly and it's another special move that he gets hit with.
He's down to the last bit of energy now so I step back and shoot him in the leg - he falls to one knee and I go in for the kill.
Hitting A and thrusting wiimote forward while facing him becomes a finishing move instead of the previous normal special attack.
The katana gets jammed into his skull and his horrified eyes are the last thing you see.
One guy left or so I thought - some huge ten foot tall hooer appears with a big sledgehammer. I decide to take out the other guy first so I charge the katana again (hold A + B).
Go up to him and swipe upwards - off he flies into the air and I take the gun out and shoot him three times in the head mid-air - then press A to jump up to him and whack him down the rest of the way.
One downwards swipe later and he's got a katana in his chest.

That guy with the sledgehammer nearly gets me with swinging the bloody thing around and I spend a while beating him down.
When he's low on energy, I use the dodge + shoot move that now becomes a finisher - I climb up his back, put my gun to the back of his head and boom....all over.

There's more special moves that I have to get but that's the fun I've had with the ones I have so far - more to follow.

It's definately a great game, as good as I have hoped it to be.

I liked the first one, even though its definitely flawed. Hoping to get the new one for my birthday (hint hint wifey). Mostly positive reviews I have read so far including my esteemed fellow Boards users above, there is life in the old wii yet.

Picked this up in in the airport on my way back from London today and I'm liking it a lot so far; I've been looking forward to it for quite a while now and
it's certainly living up to my expectations. It looks (for a Wii game at least) and plays great - the controls are pretty much spot on with the motion plus - head shots are super accurate and the sword play has been hugely improved; you really have to swing the remote for some of the more powerful swipes and the smallest movement is relayed on screen. Only played about 30 minutes of it there but I'm looking forward to spending a few hours with it tomorrow hopefully.
