If they were to make a movie about boards.ie, what actor would you have play you?
Also what sort of things could happen in a boards.ie movie?

I'd want Dylan Moran to play me. He's a good few years older than me, but personality wise, he'd be the best man for the job.

That would be just stupid. You obviously read about Myspace the movie, and took this little idea on board, pardon the pun. Why would an actor be needed to sit behind a computer screen for endless hours, just typing routlinely? The point of the movie should be to explore individuals on boards, not your little happy Hollywood bull****.

Pighead would be played by Jade Goody. I'd like to be played by Tom Selleck.

The plot would probably involve hunting down scumbags.

There's only one person who could possibly play me...

    Peter Stormare

No, the plot should be much more complex. A terrorist attack organised on boards.ie in retaliation of an opressive American goverment.

I hate myspace, I had no idea, they had myspace - the movie. I came up with the idea, about the same time me and one of the guys I work with, came up with an idea for Tetris: The Movie. Everyone said, there was no way you could come up with a storyline for Tetris, but they were wrong. So maybe boards.ie could be twisted into a movie plotline.

    You're very angry, Esteben.

    Alan Rickman would play me.

Damn, we need actors with working fingers?

I was hoping for The H man to play me..

    :(

Monroe to play me...That would be an interesting movie :D And we'd have to have a soundtrack..spider-boards..spider-boards..does whatever a spider-boards does....

ps..I'm an actor ...with working fingers

It could be a comedy. Where we see some of the users in their homes chatting online, thinking they're great friends, and then they start bumping into each other randomly in public, but have no idea that they're actually boardsies and then they come online and start bitching about each other because when they met up in public, they took instant dislikings to one another. I can see it working.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,331 ✭✭✭✭bronte

There'd have to be some kind of love triangle in there somewhere...hmmm....who to cast???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭Timans

    Nah, THIS is the Soundtrack.

    "..a floppy diskette"

it could be the sad yet touching story where an adopted child finally meets her birth parents over bebo, she adds them to msn only to be blocked by BOTH mother and father. She turns to drugs/drink and selling herself on adverts.

    Naturally, it's 16's.

Captain Negative are you actually taking this seriously?

Oh it would also have to include some dickhead saying 'yore ma'.

Michael J Fox is way too much of a midget to play me. The guy's 5'4" ffs!

No, it's Peter Stormare or bust. Give him a beard and long hair, and he's perfect: http://l.yimg.com/img.tv.yahoo.com/tv/us/img/site/49/66/0000034966_20061021043509.jpg

Ooh, I love the "who would play you in a movie" question!

Who's fiery, dark-haired, pale and curvy (as in shapely, not fat)?

    Danny DeVito?

Who would play the Atheists? Those guys are something else. ''We are open minded, blah blah blah blah.

Is it just me or is there something much more open minded about believing in a life after death.

    It could be a comedy.
I was thinking more a Greek tragedy... COURSE IT WOULD BE A COMEDY!!!

Who plays my part? I'd audition for the part to play myself. I already have plenty of experience playing (with?) myself.;)

I can see potential in it, but no, I'm a student, I don't take anything seriously, but on the other hand, I'd do it for the laugh...

Remarkably off-topic but as long as you're using a completely unrelated thread to rant about your personal convictions, I'll respond: Is it just me or is there something rather ridiculous about the notion of a supreme being that supposedly looks after us, yet young people die of cancer every day, there are wars and monstrous dictatorships all over the world, there is horrific poverty, there are war criminals roaming free instead of being behind bars... etc.

It could have been an action/blockbuster or melodrama. Comedy was only the obvious choice, if you don't think outside the box. Comedy is a good one to go for though.

But Philip Seymour Hoffman for me please.

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It makes sense and of course it's really fun telling people you're a Pastafarian, because they kinda nod as if to say oh right and then they think about what you actually said and just say, "Wait a minute. What?" Anywho, back on topic. We should set it in the 50's and then the viewers will be wondering why the hell there's computers. :D

Charlize Theron, of course the plot would have to be autoerotica but hey...
    ahem

Ok, I changed my mind. Want someone closer to my age to play me. Dylan Moran's to old, so I'm going with Shia LaBouef.

I think something more along the lines of a March of the Penguins style nature documentary would be better suited.

Since Shia is taken, I will go for Corey Feldman(85-86)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

    Jennifer Tilly?
Ooh nice! She's 20 years older than me but still looking fine for nearly 50. She came to a radio station I was working at once for an interview and the guys' tongues were hanging out for the entire duration!

    Thanks monkeyfudge!

Sounds good, as long as Morgan Freedman narrates.

Open minded means being open to many different ideas. Atheists are open to many different explanations as to our origin and what happens when we die - religious people are only open to one.

There needs to be a section of the film dedicated to Atheist - Christian debates.

    Ron Pearlman for myself.

    :D

-On a side note, I always wanted to do a random short film interputing Boards as a series of Office rooms representing each forum. Never got around to seriously penning it to paper though.
