Hey,

This is a thread i decided to make dedicated to Warhawk which was released on PSN store last thursday. Anyway this is where you post what you like/hate about the game and also if you have any problems connecting to servers etc. then post here please. Basically everything about Warhawk goes here.

Anyway I will start the thread off by posting a problem I have with the game and that is that I can't connected to the SCEE servers it just keeps saying ''unable to join server''. Does anyone know how i can fix this please?

Also if you want you can post your PSN ID's here. I will have a list of psn id names and also will have there username on boards so you know who your adding:

If i could officially download this game with my official 3v pre paid credit card id officially join you in this officially first official warhawk thread and say officially this is brilliant

but seens as i cant and playstation network care (what a name) doesnt officially care whether i can download it or not and havent a clue why it wont go through and udate my wallet, and 3v saying that i must w8 10 days for the 1 euro security check deduction to be put back on my card and then ill be able to download the game, you can see why im a tad likely to pull my hair out

Downloaded this eariler today, holy crap did that take a loooong time!!!

Now I can't seem to get into any games, I only got a list of games once, and I keep getting different server errors.:(

Try wirecard, way better than 3V IMO. Setup Internet Banking to transfer money to it using my AIB account and so far I've used it to buy stuff on Komplett.ie (LCD TV), Archos player codecs and Ms points which I got worms with from the live arcade.

As soon as the money was in my account, I could buy stuff and use it straight away without any waiting period. I got my Ms points instantly. I got charged for it with pending amount for 10 days and then the payment goes through. You can see it all on your account on the website.

I think its great, its free and the charges are a fraction of 3V's as I bought a tv and the total charge from wirecard was 1 euro.

there's an issue with server refreshes giving errors and/or showing free slots when there aren't any. simple issue because of the huge stress put on the servers since release. they'll be releasing a patch to fix this soon

I should bleedin' hope so, bring out a multiplayer game over a network, only to have the game not work due to stress on the servers, bleedin' crap service.:mad:

I also think its something to do with the game being underway already. Whenever i finally get into a sony server game (blue) its always just started so i'd reckon that has something to do with it.

I haven't had much problems getting into matches.

Really enjoying it, best ps3 game i've played so far.

Yeah I got it last thursday. Easily the ps3's best exclusive title so far (Ninja Gaiden not included). Getting into games is a problem due to the insane amount of people playing, vacancies fill up fast. Aside from issues getting into the games, Sony has done a tremendous job with the online quality. So far I've yet to experience any lag whatsoever which is nigh unheard of for a game like this.
All in all, nicely done Sony.

Thankfully no lag but the voice chat is terrible. It really takes away from the game when you cant organize any tactics or just chat with your mates.

I keep getting back 'Game is Full' whenever I try to log-in to a game.

Got into one game last night, was fun but the first match was 8 lads on the blue team and 3 of us on the red, so a little one sided, the second wasn't as bad 8v8. But I would like to get into some 16v16 matches, can't beat a really big multiplayer game.

fuzzy it takes about 4 or 5 goes to get onto one of the blue sony servers, what i do is change the filters to min 12 players max of 32 and keep refreshing it, there are only about 20 or so servers of that type and i usually got in after a few tries, theres not much point in trying to get into one thats 28 or 29/32, generally you'll get a spot if its 26 or 27.

Yeha I got into one today with about 26/32. But I got booted after about 6 minutes, with a connection error, but to be fair I think thats was more to do with my router having a hiccup then the game.

I don't understand why more games don't use a system like Halo2, it is soo much easier to get into the type of match you are looking for, and all of the fiddly stuff in hidden from the player.

Well im glad to see that its not just me who's having problems playing Warhawk. The problem is that I cant seem to get by the 'initialising network' screen. After a while I just get a message saying 'servers are not responding, check your network connection'. Im guessing this is just server maintenance on their end because I was able to play for a while last night. Its kinda annoying that this is happening I must admit. I mean, why release an online only game when they're not ready in terms of supporting the amount of potential players. I've just spent €30 on this...I WANT TO PLAY IT!

Has anyone here got a really good net connection? You know so we could have someone host a decent sized match, and perhaps password protect it so only who is invited can get in?

I can only host 8, I'm on 6meg down and 600 kbps up.

I have been getting into some matches this evening, but during every single one I have had a PSN network error.

I was mostly hosting because I was doing four player split screen here with other people joining over the network, awesome game.

I could host twelve and gameplay seemed great to me, have yet to try huge games on the dedicated servers.

Well I see you all are playing with little or no problems yet im still recieving the message 'servers are not responding' when I try to log in. Im beginning to wonder is this an issue with my router or eircom.

I had probles logging on yesterday too - the game would freeze on the Processing Login... screen. Seems a fairly common problem, and it seems to be server-side. Things will quiet down soon I'd say.

You have to press L3 to communicate to your team-mates. Just found out myself from reading the manual

hi, my psn username is vibe666 same as it is here. having similar network problems on the ranked SCEE (blue) servers, but have been able to get in a few times.

my major problem at the moment (aside from being pwnd most of the time) is that my stats aren't being updated after matches at all and i have nothing at all listed in my stats page when i try and log into it.

i've won ribbons and medals in matches and they just aren't being recorded which sucks because i've pulled off a few really cool moves and i'm getting no recognition for it.

I'd be up for a clan anyway and a bit of a match sometime. i'm usually on between 5-7pm weeknights and on and off at the weekends.

i saw that paper model online, would be cool if only it came with a big box of patience, skill and free time! anyone who's got that long to speare should really be playing WH online anyway!

You guys are all probably way ahead of me on this, but just in case a n00b ever reads it, here's a few things I would have liked to have known from the start in WH (or RTFM as it's also known )

Part 1: FLYING
when flying, a double tap to the R2 (accelerate) button gives you a very powerul afterburner that can just about get you halfway across the map in a couple of seconds. it recharges automatically over about 10-15 seconds. very handy to use with some acrobatics via the right analogue stick for outrunning/manouvering incoming attacks.

the swarm missles (up on the d-pad) can be fired in salvoes of up to 8, which at close range are almost guaranteed to get you a kill air-to-air. keep your enemy in your sights with L1 held down and each time a lock is achieved another swarm missle will be added to the payload. relase with the enemy still in sight and they'll all go right for him. the closer the better to avoid giving him a chance to launch counter-measures. another good time to use the afterburner to close the gap between you so they don't have time to escape the incoming missles.

avoiding missle attacks is a real pain in the arse, if anyone has a decent way of getting away from them as often as possible, feel free to share

so far, my best method is speed and violent turns, preferably close to the gound. missles tend to very roughly follow your route, only normally on a slightly wider arc. a very close pass by terrain will quite often (as in the movies) have them impact what you just missed.

guns. don't forget the guns. if you've run out of missles and your target is still in your sights, make sure you use your primary guns, they're a lot more powerful than you'd think and it only takes a couple of seconds to bring down an enemy.

chaff. very effective at saving your arse in a tight spot. it's just a quick d-pad right and L1 and and missles up your backside will fly off randomly (doesn't hurt to do the same yourself, in case someone is coming at you with guns).

attacking ground units (mostly jeeps and tanks) a good way of stalling someonewith a flag in CTF games if you're short on missles and your guns are overheating is to just ram into them and try and flip them over. it only takes a second or 2 for them to right themselves, but it's often enough to give you the edge. slam down on top of them or sideswipe them.

powerslides. when in tight turns during a dogfight, L2+R2 will give you a bit of a turny strafy thing allowing you to turn that little bi tighter. very useful for bringing you guns to bear on the bad guys.

i don't know about everyone else but i'm finding myself on the receiving end of quite a bit of pwnage on the ranked servers (the ones i can get onto) because of the max rank being set to general. there should be a ranked server or two just for the n00bs to get some meaningful practice in without spending most of the round showing off the ragdoll physics every minute or so as they fall through the air.

Ok off topic but its to do with Warhawk.

Own a US PS3 and i was wondering do i have to buy off the US playstation store or can i buy of the EU one. Also is it worth buyin the game when it comes out on bluray on the 21st cause i need a mic but would it not be faster installing it to the harddrive than playin off a disc for loading times.

what a load of bull, I don't like getting ripped off. I have been trying to log in for two days not a sniff. just "check network settings" I have Eircom broadband, maybe cause i use the wifi? I feel like a kid with a new toy batteries not included or even available, as much use as bike with no pedals:mad: :mad:

that sucks man, i dont know why its doing that, the server was down for a little while and you may have just been unlucky.

Usually for me it works fine.

I've got a great new trick btw, if you pick up mines, throw them all onto your jeep and drive suicidally into an enemy tank/player/turret.

yep not happy with situation, does anyone with eircom have this game working? cause I cant. if i had of bought the game in gamestop i would be asking for my money back by now. I have no probs with resistance the fall of man, great on line play.:mad:

Have it working nps with eircom BB, thats after my nightmare trying to pay for it on the store, some people have been effected by the 1.92 update that seems to have probs with warhawk others dont, sony and incognito are working on a fix for it atm

Yes it is indeed gak!!! You can't even see when you'r friends are online in the game, well while in a match.

I'll send a clan invite to anyone who wants one, might not get to it untill tomorrow. I'll add anyone on here then.

Looks like they are claiming ro have fixed the problem with stats not being displayed, there is a message when you log-in to Warhawk.

But it looks like it will only update new stats, so anything we might have won before is gone most likley:mad:

does anyone know of any ISP's offering better than 3mbps/384kbps over eircom'slines? even a business product (I have a ltd. company to do it through) would do me. I was going to get irish broadbands 4meg up and down wireless broadband a few months back, but i got scuppered by some badly placed trees.
