Walking down Grafton street or wherever in town....EVERY girl is wearing the same aul "skinny jeans" n messed up hairstyle....dyed 99% of the time! Theres no originality these days! What has Dublin become!? All girls seem to look the exact same....Now saying that I am a girl, but I keep my fashion original...but theres so few like that! I say bring back the 80's/90's!! :D

I'm curious, what do you lads think of this? Would you prefer a "unique/original" girl?

Didn't everyone dress the same or at least pretty similar in the 1980s and 1990s? Like goths, or punks etc?

What you're basically saying that it you find it unusual that girls wear jeans and have messy hair. Is it possible that you're talking about a saturday/sunday morning?

I'm trying to guess what you're wearing that no one else has worn before (I'm talking style, not the actual garment).

    A giant brown paper bag?

A glass dress (opaque of course)?

What makes you so original, Cheeky_gal?

And why should people have to try to be original? Can't they just be comfortable/happy?

Women are sheep. Every 2nd one of them is wearing those ridiculous Charley and the Chocolate Factory Mike TV sunglasses these days, and they actually think they look good. Oh how they'll cringe when they look at the photo album in 10 years

I for one go for the unique type anyway. All the same looking ones just don't catch my attention (much). Course the saturday morning look is allowed, but once it hits 2pm on saturday, i expect something better!

I go for unique girls, but when I say "unique" I don't mean "slightly different mainstream fashion sense/" or that they wear retro/goth/emo/whatever clothes.

I don't see how the 80s/90s were any different to now tbh.

Seriously, are half the girls all blonde though?

How do men know the difference, well a real blonde doesn't look to see if a man is looking at her, she knows, whereas a peroxide blonde looks because she wants the attention!

    No I'm a naturalle! ;)

And yea...every girl is going blonde...like don't get me wrong people, theres absolutely nothing wrong with girls dying their hair or whatnot but it's the ones that dye their hair, change their dress sense, accent etc to be like their friend...it's a cycle cuz in the end you have a group of blondes/brunettes/albinos/redheads all with their natural look turn out into a group of blonde abercrombie ugg wearing clic! Wheres the sense in that?

And foxrock boy, I'm not bitching here, I'm just curious of others opinions' ...sure most of my friends are sheep anyways! :p

What about teenage boys? All wearing rugby/designer/pink shirts, bleaching their hair badly and spiking it up, all wearing jeans too? And what about all the goths/emo's etc. who all look the same and the 'skangers' who all dress the same? Most people fall into sheepdom somewhere.

The only thing that really confuses me about messy peroxide hair and bad fake tan etc. is why girls think it looks good on them? Any lads agree that fake hair and fake orange skin is not attractive?

I personally believe.. that Irish Irish girls wear skinny jeans.. because some girls out there in our nation don't have other jeans and I believe that our shops like, such South Africa and Iraq, everywhere like such as and I believe that they should eughh, our shops over here in Ireland, should help Irela.. or should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries so we'll be able to build up our future.

these guys don't know what there on about

I agree with you, they all looked americanized. Looks like they're wearing their pajamas in the city. I'm not irish and I can clearly see that they have no style.
If you go to Paris, you'll see that the girls are much classier.
I still think that all girls wear the same thing but its also valid for me. Lets just say most people want to be camouflaged in the crowd.

edit: somebody talked about fake tan. Man what the HECK is that, looks freaking nasty. I would just laugh with my friends

We're talking about the girls but the guys are not any better. All these polos and t shirts with numbers on them (abercrombie and fitch style) and ****ty lines etc...

The pjs thing is a scumbag girl thing to do, they colour code (app). thats sad. we live in ireland, not south central.

as for the rest - oh gee a group of people dressing in the fashion of their interest/time. shocking. lock them all up. i mean how dare they want to look trendy or want to fit in but look better then their mates at the same time. never been done before, by any other generation. god, now we'll have the first ever generation with a definative fashion style......

    oh wait.............no we won't

down in the west of Ireland they wear mini-skirts to show their sexy farmer legs, and they don't have blonde hair because if the slurry gets in the blonde hair, yur fluckered!

Also, in the West, they show as much skin as possible... because all good old country farmer boys know that the face doesn't matter, it's all about those pair of legs, the arse and the tits!

Come down to Westport for a weekend, and then you'll get a proper sex education lesson on what to wear!

The orange look is not a good one.
Most guys aren't into the fake tan on girls..one male friend of mine says it makes girls smell like old biscuits.
I've accepted my paleness at this stage..probably best!

It is if it's just a little bit of a tinted color on your skin, but when women(and men) start lathering their skin, turning themselves into oompa loompa's, it's just disgusting!

also, I prefer girls who come as a what you see is what you get package... Fake tan just doesn't cut it for me, and the black leggings: They just have a rotten look to them....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28 tjtmod

Fake tan is rancid and people wearing it are just screaming for attention.

Being tanned wasn't enough for them, so they decided to take it one step further, in order to stand out from the crowd.

    ****ing jackasses.

It's those woolly slipper boots that girls walk on the sides of that grind my gears! I was in a shop, and a girl picked up a pair and said "Wow, they're sooooo nice!" Sometimes I'd be on the DART and about 7 of the same girl would get on. It's like Attacks of the Clones. And with those orange faces, they look like they've been Tango-ed! I wonder can they pick themselves out of the class photo? :D

    orange is bad fake tan.

but there are lots of nice fake tan too. what would you suggest for anyone who wants a bit of colour, but who hasn't been abroad- so has had our summer to contend with?

    sunbeds? real responsible if so.

a little fake tan hurts nobody, and if it makes someone feel good bout themselves then more power to them. and being tanned makes you look healthier - natural looking, not the mad orange stuff (which incidently could just be cause its fresh from the salon, and its settling, so its orange, but the next day its brown and nice)

If you're going to write something off as "stupid" then at least have the common sense to qualify what you mean by it- tarring everyone with the same brush is ignorant. you wouldn't generalise based on gender or race, so why do it based on fashion? or music taste? or where someone lives? or age?

    That *really* annoys me.

    */ end rant

Sorry, but small mindedness and assumptions based on blatent sterotyping p***es me off

While we are talking about women; what about fake boobs? i fookin hate them, what is the point?? i remember when i was in college this girl got her daddy to get her big implants, how we (the guys) laughed when she went from a rather cute a or b cup to an all over the place DD or something like that.

Personally i have never seen a good boob job, expect maybe this one http://www.maximonline.com/articles/index.aspx?a_id=6641

Boob jobs are sooooooooooooooooo obvious its not funny

not a devotee of fake tan, but when I want to wear my shorts, I like to be somewhat tanned for it. glow-in-the-dark white legs are not a good look.
