Hey guys im gonna invest in the Boss RC-20XL for looping guitar and vocals. the only problem is i want to loop vocals just in my bedroom for now and not buy a pa. i already have a mic, mic stand and mic cable so i was wondering is there anything pretty cheap out there that i could buy? or should i just use an old 10watt guitar amp :O

    How cheap is cheap?

An active 100-watt T.Box floor monitor from Thomann would only be a couple of hundred euros, if even. It'd be perfect to practice with in general - just like being on stage. And you could bring it to those awful gigs with no monitors. They have a mic input, so no mixer is needed.

A guitar speaker only has a frequency response of about 70-5000hz, which cuts off just before things get interesting vocally. It'll sound worse than an old phone, and when you start looping it will just turn into unintelligible noise. Which can sound lovely as an effect, when you want it.

Well, yeah, but that's about as good as it gets in that kinda budget. It's still a whole lot better than an instrument amp. Maybe stretch to this one http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_ma1220_mkii.htm if you can.
