    The humble foot.

Often neglected in the field but shoes or boots that slowly chew their way through your flesh until they bite bone.

Anyone any tips for comfortable podiatry lifestyles?

Thicker socks is about the only thing I can think of but surely someone out there (especially anyone with service experince) should have some good tips :D

Find a boot that's comfortable and wear it in. Only thing really. Luckily enough I wear boots every day of the week and use the same ones to skirmish.

They is nice and cosy :p

Ditto but my feet are like weapons of mass destruction. There hasnt been a shoe built they didnt demolish in short order.

The lining of these are starting to come away and the metal toe is starting to bite.

    Time for new shoes maybe?

Check out the boots in Army Bargains. Probably one of the few things in the shop which are actually bargains. I bought a pair a year ago for about €70 and they're still in perfect condition.

Yeah? Which brand and type? Metal toe?

The webbing in there is insanely expensive and the €25 jacket I bought at salute is 200 in there

    You're kidding?

they are pink or bright orange or something arent they? Thats why they are so cheap.

I use a pair of boots that I got for free when helping out at the manufacturing plant in work. :D They are reinforced to protect your feet against half-ton loads....so they are practically indestructable.

Don't know if you can buy similar boots anywhere, but if you can then they are well worth picking up.

I have two pairs of para boots (one purchased in Army Bargains, the other in a surplus shop way up the far end of Argyle St. in Glasgow). Both are over four years old, and get resoled every now and again.

Cheap as chips and sturdy as hell.

If I recall my sizes from my trip to Florida last Christmas, US size is UK + 1. So a size 10 UK would be a size 11 US. Annnnnd, checking my Fila boots which were bought in Florida, they are a UK 10 1/2 -> US 11 1/2

Wouldnt go with the steel toe cap unless u really need it for somthing else. Magnums are cheap(ish) and light and durable enough for airsoft.

Iv meindls, matterhorns and magnums all good boots. Matterhorns are the extra tall ones and are fantastic for full on 48h+ tactics. Plenty of foot powder is key with any boots.

yet id agree with Rew on that ,great selection of boots
if you want light weight boot the Magnum cen for E80 in millets
i use the Magnum ELITE 900 WP E130 in army bargins its a little heavier but its an excellent all weather ,all round boot have mine in daily use over 14 months still in good shape ,you can order a pair with a competsitestoe ie carbon fibre from there website all the protection of a steel toe minus the weight.
other than putting an insole for a pair from adidas or nike for comfort not much you can do for you feet and a pair of 1000mile socks set you back about 25 a pair
    hope this helps:) :)

I’ve had a pair of the magnum elite’s for at least 5 years and their still going.
They’re waterproof, comfortable and they’re tough enough for anything you would be doing in airsoft and not that expensive.

And with it getting closer to winter (not that we had much summer) your going to need something waterproof and warm.

I know u all wear boots and everything but if ur having problems with boots would u not just wear runners i always do and they comfy as hell and they dont even get that dirty if ur careful like nto falling into rivers and getting stuck:p

I have a pair of Magnums and they are a good 8 years old and are still going strong. I've had them out in every trip I did with the FCA back then. I've hiked everywhere in them since and brought them to festival after festival... they've done a fair portion of the wicklow way too. They are light, comfortable and waterproof. They have my thumbs up.

    because:

runners provide no ankle support, have rubbish grip for climbing or even walking/running on rough terrain, generally aren't waterproof and its easier to have fun when you dont need to be watching every step you take

but if you have no other choice, an old pair of runners that your not bothered about getting dirty will do

Im beginging to thing that people are obcessed with steel toe caps. There only any good if you going to drop somthing on your toe (alot hevier then an AEG) or get your fott run over :D Other then that they will hinder you.

lol, If you have stubbed your toes as often as I have then you'll understand why ;)

You are right though, the steel cap is not a necessity but it doesnt do any harm in a decent pair of boots, however I could tell you some horror stories about poor quality ones.

Weight, flexibilty and comfort. Infantry troops dont do steel toe caps for those very reasons. I would definitly say that a pair of 80 euro magnums are spot on for airsoft. Good support, light and robust enough for the days games.

, id agree om the magnums but id get the E130 elite 900 waterproof boot , they look better and are alot more comfortable ,the shanks have been replaced by a competsite material reducing the weight
